Halloween Manga leg warmers and arm warmers.

Needle size: US 8 (5.0mm). Yarn: Red Heart Super Saver Solid, hunter green color. 4 cat collars (e.g. from the pet store) to fit the child's leg and arm, 2 each). One cat collar to fit the child's neck if desired. Cat ears and tails came from the party store.
Leg warmers (make 2):
Size: bottom width: 16 inches, top width: 11.5 inches. Height: 15 inches. Cast on 50 stitches. Knit a total of 59 rows following these directions: Knit 2 rows in garter stitch (knit both rows). (Rows 1-2) Knit in stockinette stitch for rows 3-24. In row 25 decrease 4 stitches evenly spaced. (46 stitches left) Knit in stockinette stitch for rows 26-32. In row 33 decrease 4 stitches evenly spaced. (42 stitches left) Knit in stockinette stitch for rows 34-40. In row 41 decrease 4 stitches evenly spaced. (38 stitches left) Knit in stockinette stitch for rows 42-48. In row 49 decrease 4 stitches evenly spaced. (34 stitches left). Knit in stockinette stitch for rows 50-52. In rows 53 and 54 make six holes evenly spaced by casting off one stitch (BO1) six times (row 53) and replacing it with a yarn over to get that stitch back in row 54. Row 53: K3, BO1, K4, BO1, K5, BO1, K4, BO1, K5, BO1, K4, BO1, K3. Knit stockinette stitch for rows 55-57. Knit garter stich for 2 rows (rows 58-59). Bind off all stitches loosely. Sew together to make a tube Weave cat collar through the holes and adjust for leg circumference just under the knee.
Arm warmers (make 2):
Size: bottom width: 14.5 inches, top width: 8.5 inches. Height: 18 inches. Cast on 40 stitches. Knit a total of 71 rows following these directions: Knit 2 rows in garter stitch (knit both rows). (Rows 1-2). Knit in stockinette stitch for rows 3-28. In row 29 decrease 4 stitches evenly spaced (36 stitches left). Knit in stockinette stitch for rows 30-38. In row 39 decrease 4 stitches evenly spaced (32 stitches left) Knit in stockinette stitch for rows 40-48. In row 49 decrease 4 stitches evenly spaced (28 stitches left). Knit in stockinette stitch for rows 50-58. In row 59 decrease 4 stitches evenly spaced (24 stitches left). Knit in stockinette stitch for rows 60-64. In rows 65 and 66 make four holes evenly spaced by casting off one stitch (BO1) four times (row 65) and replacing it with a yarn over to get that stitch back in row 66. Row 65: K2, BO1, K5, BO1, K5, BO1, K5, BO1, K3. Knit stockinette stitch for rows 67-69. Knit garter stich for 2 rows (rows 70-71). Bind off all stitches loosely. Weave cat collar through the holes and adjust for arm circumference about midway on the upper arm. My daughter was 11 when I made this size.
