Materials:
Sock Yarn 4ply Double Point Needles US1 Cuff: Cast on 60 sts, join in the round and knit 12 rounds in 2/2 ribbing Leg: Knit in pattern 5 times or desired length. Heel flap is worked over 30 sts: Right side: slip 1, knit 1, repeat to end. Wrong side: slip 1, purl to end Repeat this 2 rows 14 times (30 rows) Turn heel: Row 1: Slip 1, k 16, ssk, k 1, turn. Row 2: Slip 1, p 5, p2tog, p1, turn. Row 3: Slip 1, k to slipped st, ssk, k 1, turn. Row 4: Slip 1, p to slipped stitch, p2tog, p1, turn. Repeat rows 3 & 4 until 16 worked sts and 4 sts from the heel flap (2 before, 2 behind the worked sts) are on the needle.
Complete heel:
Slip 1, knit to last stitch, ssk, turn. Slip 1, purl to last stitch, p2tog, turn. Repeat this 2 rows once more - 16 sts on the needle.
Gusset:
Pick up and knit 16 stitches on every side of the heel flap. Divide the sts between 3 Needles: Needle 1 - 8 heel sts, 16 gusset sts Needle 2 - 30 instep sts Needle 3 - 16 gusset sts, 8 heel sts Knit the instep in pattern, sole in stockinette. Knit stitches tbl in the next round. K15 (sole), p9. Knit instep in pattern. P9, k15. Next Round: Needle 1 - k14, ssk, p8 Needle 3 - work in pattern Needle 3 - p8, k2tog, k14 Repeat these 2 rounds until 15 (k)sts remain
Foot:
Cont in patt as set, working sts on needle 1 and needle 3 in stockinette st and sts on needle 2 in pattern, until work measures 2 inches less than desired length.
Toe:
Round 1: K to last 3 sts on needle 1, k2tog, k1 k1, ssk, k to last 3 sts on needle 2, k2tog, k1 k1, ssk, k to end of needle3 Round 2: K all sts. Repeat these 2 rounds until 24 stitches remain. K sts from Needle 1 onto Needle 3 (12 sts). Graft sts on Needle 2 to sts on Needle 3.
