General info
Skill level
itermediate. There are some tricky techniques such as horizontal folds and W/T stitches.
Sizes and finished measurements
7,7.5, 8, 8.5, 9, 9.5, 10, 10.5, 12 US/Canada. Slippers are knit in three sizes (instructions for 2 larger sizes are given in brackets). Each size falls into three different shoe sizes and then is felted to fit the needed length, please, refer carefully to the tablebelowwhenfelting slippers. The length of the slipper' sole is larger in 0.3-0.4 mm then the actual shoe size to make these slippers fit over thin socks (or if you choose to wear them without socks these mm do not make great difference).

Yarn felting test
CO 15 sts and using size 7 US circular needles (4.5 mm) knit 17 rows in main pattern, cast off at RS. Measure the swatch - it should be 7.5 cm in width and 7.5 cm in length (Figure 1). Felt the knit sample, measure again, the width of your swatch came to 6.5 cm and length - to 5.5 cm (Figure 2).

Break off the yarn and move rem sts to thewaste yarn.
Right slipper
Pick up 43 (48, 54) sts as it is shown on the Figure 3 by picking out 1 st out of 2 sts, k12 (14, 14) from the waste yarn, pick up 43 (48, 54) sts, remove provisional yarn and k6 (7, 7) sts of the sole, put a st marker (this will be your marker for the beginning of rounds in main part). Rem 5 (6, 6) sts go to the 1't round. Count your stitches - 109 (123, 135) sts in total. Knit 5 rounds from the st marker in st st (knit all sts), fold them as it is shown on the phototutorial onPage11. Work one round in \*k1, p1\* to the last st, k1. Felting (here the magic begins)
Step 1 (OPTIONAL): pre-felting your project by hands.
Take 2 tubs and fill one with very hot water you can stand in rubber gloves, another tub fill with cold water. Add into the tub with hot water a small amount of detergent (I used dishwashing gel) and start mashing and rolling your slippers there one by one, 5 min in hot water - 1 min in cold. I used a regular washboard to fasten the felting. At first your slippers will be geting bigger, but in 10-15 minutes you will see that the felting begins and slippers start to shrink. Pre-felt your slippers for 15-20 minutes.
Step 2: felt slippers in washing machine.
Set your washing machine to hot washing cycle with cold rinse and fastest spin cycle possible. If you have a top-load machine you can choose the lowest water level - it is great, it will give you the possibility to check the felting process constantly. I used 60° wash cycle (Celcium) for I have a front-load machine and I couldn't open it for checking. Wet your slippers and add some detergent (l used dishwashing gel) into each slipper, add another spoon of detergent into washing machine, put your slippers together with old pair of clean jeans and launch the wash cycle. Depending on yarn and personal preferences, felting may take up to 2 hours (as my project took -I used 3 interrupted cycles, hot wash for 20 min, cold rinse for 20 and fast spin). Felt your slippers till the length of sole (without "horizontal borders") measures the length indicated in the table on Page 2. As for bows, I preferred to felt them by hands. Again, it's optional.
Step 3: finishing.
Sew the button into the center of bow and attach it to the slipper. Each slipper has little part without "horizontal border" - this is the place for a bow. Before felting and after...
