Ribby-Ridgy Fingerless Mitts

This is a good "first pair of mitts" pattern for beginning knitters, incorporating ribbing, knit and purl stitches, a bit of construction and knitting in the round with double pointed needles. The mitts match the Ribby-Ridgy Hat pattern. The gorgeous colors of Mochi Plus work their magic and make it a real joy to knit. They are knit from the cuffs to the fingertips and sized for women's medium. Increase or reduce by 4 stitches to alter the size.
Directions:
Using the long tail cast on method, cast on 32 stitches Distribute the stitches over three needles, 10 stitches on the first needle, 12 stitches on the second needle and 10 stitches on the third needle. Join in the round by knitting the last cast on stitch to the first cast on stitch, being careful not to twist the stitches. Rounds 1-20: \*Knit 2, Purl 2\* Repeat from \* until end of the round. This creates a rib stitch pattern for the cuff. Round 21: Purl all stitches of this round. This is garter stitch. Rounds 22-26: Knit all stitches of these rounds. This is stockinette stitch. Round 27: Purl all stitches of this round. Rounds 28-30: Knit all stitches of these rounds. Round 31: Purl all stitches of this round. Rounds 32-36: Knit all stitches of these rounds. Round 37: Purl all stitches of this round.

Relaxed Bind off:
Bind off loosely in pattern. Weave in ends. Follow all the directions to knit the second mitt. Have fun! Soak the mitts for fifteen minutes in tepid water with a small amount of non-rinsing wash. Squeeze out excess water. Roll it in a towel and blot out the excess water. Never wring or twist the mitts. Arrange them on a dry towel. Allow drying flat for a time. Rearrange periodically to allow air to flow through. Shift the position occasionally until dried.
Congratulations! You've knit your first pair of fingerless mitts!
Enjoy!
