Materials Needed:
-Any worsted weight yarn - approx. 2 oz red and a small amount of black - I used LTK's 3-ply -G hook or hook needed to obtain gauge -Stuffing of your choice - this can be wool roving, polyester fiberfill, fabric, scraps of yarn...use your imagination. -tapestry needle and stitch marker Gauge: 4.75 sts and 4.5 rows per inch in single crochet
BODY:

Rnd 1: W/ red, ch 3, sc in 2" ch from hook and in next ch. Then sc in the free loops on the opposite side of the chain. Join w/ sl st. (4 sc) Rnd 2: Ch 1, 2 sc in ea st around. Join w/ sl st. (8 sc) Rnd 3: Ch 1, 2 sc in $1^{\mathrm{{st}}}$ st, sc in next 2 st, 2 sc in next 2 st, sc in next 2 st, 2 sc in last st. Join w/ sl st. (12 sc) Rnds 4-5: Ch 1, sc in each sc around. Join w/ sl st. Rnd 6: Ch 1, 2 sc in $1^{\mathrm{st}}$ st, sc in next 4st, 2 sc in next 2 st, sc in next 4 st, 2 sc in last st. Join w/sl st. (16 sc) Rnds 7-17: Ch 1, sc in each sc around. Join w/ sl st. Rnd 18: Ch 1, working in the back loops only, sc in each st around. Join w/ sl st. Rnds 19-20: Ch 1, working through both loops, sc in each sc around. Join w/ sl st. Rnds 21-23: Repeat rnds 18-20. Rnd 24: Ch1, working inthebackloops only, sc in next4 sts, 2 sc innext 2 sts, sc in the next 6sts, 2 sc in the next 2 sts, sc in the next 2 sts. Join w/ sl st. (20 sc) Rnd 25: Ch1, working through both lops, sc in next 5 sts, 2 sc in ext 2 sts, sc in the next 8 sts, 2 sc in the next 2 sts, sc in the next 3 sts. Join w/ s st. (24 sc) Rnd 26: Ch 1, sc in next 6 sts, 2 sc in next 2 sts, sc in the next 10 sts, 2 sc in the next 2 sts, sc in the next 4 sts. Join w/sl st. (28 sc) Sl st in the next 7 sts. Stuff w/flling of your choice. Then holding the front and back together, ch 1 and sl st the front and back together working through the sc on both sides.

CLAWS: (make 2)
W/ red, ch 14. \*Working in the back ridge, sl st in the $2^{\mathbf{nd}}$ ch from hook, se in next st, hde in next st, de in next st, sl st in next st (place st marker in this stitch)\*, ch5. Repeat from \* to \* with the last s st being made in the marked st. Hde in the next 2 ch, 2 hde in next ch, hdc in the last 5 ch. Finish offleaving a $6^{\circ}$ tail. Sew to either side of eyes (see picture for placement). LEGS: (make 6) W/ red, ch 10. Working in the back ridge, sl st in the $2^{\mathrm{nd}}$ ch from hook, sc in the next 3 ch, 2 sc in next ch, sc in the last 4 ch. Finish off leaving a 6"tail. Sew to body (see picture for placement). ANTENNAE: (make 2) Ch 10, finish off leaving 6" tail. Sew to head.
FINISHING:
Weave in all ends. Using black, embroider eyes if desired.
