Materials: #10 crochet thread - green #7 (1.5mm) steelcrochethook Split rings of preferred size | Stitches Used: (American terms) Ch - Chain Sl st - Slip stitch Sc - Single Crochet Dc - Double crochet |
Special Stitch Combinations:
Stem: Ch 4 or 5, place ring on chain by removing hook, putting ring over the stem and then replacing hook in last chained stitch. Then (moving back down the chain) sl st in the back of each stitch. 3-Dc Cluster: Essentially a series of incomplete dc stitches -- \*wrap thread around hook, insert hook into ring, wrap thread around hook and pull through, wrap thread around hook and pull through two loops. Repeat from \* twice more (three loops plus previous stitch on hook), wrap thread and pull through all loops.

Shamrock #1:
Chain 3, join with sl st to first chain to form a ring. Rnd 1: \* Ch 3, dc 2 times in ring, ch 3, sl st in ring. Repeat from \* two more times for a total of three petals. Create the stem (see page 1). Cut thread and weave in ends.

Shamrock #2:
Chain 3, join with sl st to first chain to form a ring. Rnd 1: \* Ch 4, dc 2 times in ring, ch 4, sl st in ring. Repeat from \* two more times for a total of three petals. Create the stem (see page 1). Cut thread and weave in ends.

Shamrock #3:
Chain 3 or 4, join with sl st to first chain to form a ring. Rnd 1: \*Ch 3, 3-dc cluster, ch 3, sl st in ring. Repeat from \* two more times for three petals. Create the stem (see page 1). Cut thread and weave in ends. Shamrocks

Four-leaf Clover:
Chain 4, join with sl st to first chain to form a ring. Rnd 1: \*Ch 4 , 3-dc cluster, ch 4, sl st in ring. Repeat from \* three more times for four petals. Create the stem (see page 1). Cut thread and weave in ends.
Other Notes:

If you have problems working in a 3-chain center ring or if you prefer a more open center, try a 4- or 5-chain center ring. Both of these shamrocks were created with the #3 instructions but the one on the right has a 4-chain center ring.

Any of these shamrocks can be converted to a row marker by adding a lobster claw or any other open style hook.

Have all the stitch markers you need? Make earrings or add a simple chain for a lovely necklace. Allicats Designs mailto:AllicatsDesigns @ gmail.com Shamrocks
