Notes:
Far Me are a pair of cuff down knited socks, knitted in the round with a reinforced round heel and a kitchener stitched toe. The length is easily adjustable and it should fit most feet. When working the 3-color-rows please be aware that pattern won't have a lot of stretch so be careful not to pull the strands to tight. The pattern is written out for 4 double pointed needles called needle 1, 2, 3 and 4. If you use the magic loop method please count each of your needles as 2 to follow the pattern. Happy knitting!
Cuff:
With color A, cast on 68 sts using long tail cast on and divide them evenly over four needles (17 sts on each needle). Join in the round and knit as follows: Row 1: \*k1tbl, p1\*, repeat pattern between stars until all sts are worked. Repeat the ribbing row (row 1) 9 times more, 10 times in total. Next row (with color A): knit all sts. Next row (with color A): \*k8, m1L, k9, m1L\* repeat pattern between stars 3 more times. (8 sts increased). You now have a total of 76 sts on the needles. Knit row 1-13 from chart and join other colors as they are needed. When chart is finished cut all yarns except Color D. From now on only color D is used to knit the rest of the sock. Next row: \*k1, k2tog, k6, k2tog, k6, k2tog\* repeat pattern between stars 3 more times. (12 sts decreased). You now have a total of 64 sts on the needles. Knit 25 rows in stockinette stitch.
Heel:
Move all your sts from needle 2 onto needle 1. You will now start working your heel over this needle. (32 sts). Your heel is worked back and forth repeating the following two rows: Row 1 (RS): \*Sl1 wyb, k1\* repeat pattern between stars until end of row, turn. Row 2 (WS): Sl1 wyf, p31. Repeat these two rows 14 more times (15 times in total) It's now time to start turning the heel. The heel turn is knitted with short rows. (lf you are using Jawoll sock yarn, join the reinforce thread for the heel turn if you like.) Row 1 (RS): SI1 wyb, k17, ssk, k1, turn. Row 2 (WS): Sl1 wyf, p5, p2tog, p1, turn. Row 3 (RS): Sl1 wyb, k until 1 st before gap formed on previous row, ssk (1 st from each side of gap), k1, turn. Row 4 (WS): Sl1 wyf, p until 1 st before gap formed on previous row, p2tog (1 st from each side of gap), p1, turn. Repeat row 3 and 4 until you worked all sts, ending with a WS row. You now have 18 sts on your heel needle. Knit 9 sts. You are now in the center of your heel and this will from now on be your new beginning of round.
Foot:
Row 1: needle 1, k9 (heel sts), pick up 14 sts from heel flap and 3 sts in the gap between needles; needle 2, k16 (instep sts); needle 3, k16 (instep sts); needle 4: pick up 3 sts in the gap between needles and 14 sts from heel flap, k9 (heel sts). You now have a total of 84 sts on the needles. Row 2: needle 1, k until 3 sts remain on needle 1, k2tog, k1; needle 2, k16; needle 3, k16; needle 4, k1, ssk, k until end of round. (2 sts decreased) Row 3: Knit all sts. Repeat row 2 and 3 untill you have 16 sts left on each needle (64 sts in total). Continue to knit in stockinette stitch until foot measures 5 cm / 2 inch shorter than desired foot length. It is now time to start your toe.
Toe:
(If you are using Jawoll sock yarn, join the reinforce thread if you like.) Row 1: needle 1, k until 3 sts on needle 1 remain, k2tog, k1; needle 2, k1, ssk, k until end of needle 2; needle 3, k until 3 sts on needle 3 remain, k2tog, k1; needle 4, k1, ssk, k until end of needle 4. (4 sts decreased) Row 2: Knit all sts. Repeat row 1 and 2 until 7 sts remain on each needle (28 sts in total). Then knit only row 1 two more times. You now have 5 sts left on each needle (20 sts in total). Knit your 5 sts on needle one once more. Cut yarn but leave a 15 cm / 6 inch tail hanging between sts on needle 1 and 2. Close your toe with Kitchener stitch uand weave in all ends. Wet block to even out the color work. Wear your socks a lot and laugh often. Happy knitting everyone!
