PATTERN:
With Size 7 (4.5mm) 16" (40cm) circular needle C0 32 sts. Divide sts evenly between two size 7 (4.5mm) 16" (40cm) circular needles. Being careful not to twist the sts. join for knitting in the round. Round 1: \*kl, pl; rep. from \* to end of round. Round 2: \*p1, kl; rep. from \* to end of round. Repeat rounds 1 & 2 twice more. (6 rounds worked). Knit 22 rounds. Increase round: Kl3, pm, kf/b of next 2 sts, pm, k to end of round - (4sts between markers). Knit 2 rounds. Inc. round: K13, sm, kf/b of the next st, k2, kf/b of the next st, sm, k to end of round - (6sts between markers). Knit 1 round Inc. round: Kl3, sm, kf/b of the next st, k4, kf/b of the next st, sm, k to end of round - (8sts between markers). Knit 2 rounds. Inc. round: K13, sm, kf/b of the next st, k6, kf/b of the next st, sm, k to end of round - (1Osts between markers). Knit I round. Inc. round: Kl3, sm, kf/b of the next st, k8, kf/b of the next st, sm, k to end of round - (12sts between markers). Knit 2 rounds. Inc. round: Kl3, sm, kf/b of the next st, klo, kf/b of the next st, sm, k to end of round - (14sts between markers). Knit 2 rounds. Inc. round: K13, sm, Kf/b of the next st, kl2, Kf/b of the next st, sm, k to end of round - (16sts between markers). Knit 2 rounds. Thumb
Pick up the 16sts. from the stitch holder. With RS facing; starting with a knit row work in St st for 1 ". BO; leaving a long enough tail to seam up the thumb and close any holes at the base of the thumb. To work the thumb in the round: Pick up the 16sts from the stitch holder.
