sporty scarf by ttwcreative

Sporty Scarf is just that, the scarf to wear with those sporty winter outfits that inevitably involve some sort of puffy vest or coat. If you are going to look like the Michelin Man, the least you can do is have a sporty little scarf to show you really do have style. This scarfis easier than it looks, because it uses the slipped stitch method of color knitting. Colors change only at the ends of rows and the yarn is carried up the sides for neat edges - no fancy Faire Isle skills required. The skills you do need for Sporty Scarf are the basic knit and purl stitches, make I and ssk. You will only use about 90 yards of each color, making this an excellent stash-buster. FINISHED MEAsUREMENTs: 6 inches wide and a little more than 6 feet long. YARN: 5 skeins of worsted weight yarn. The yarns used in pictured piece are: · Malabrigo Worsted (100% merino wool; 215 yards/100 grams): 1 hank (shown here in a discontinued aqua colorway) · Cascade Pastaza (50% Llama, 50% Peruvian highland wool/100g): 1 hank each of 217 (green) and 058 (blue) · Cascade Cash Vero (55% Merino extra fine wool, 33% Microfiber, 12% Cashmere; 98 yards): 1 ball each of 029 (dark grey) and 030 light grey · Note: Pattern uses approximately 85 - 90 yards of each color yarn.
