Worsted Weight Bed Socks
LK-150 Mast Tension 9, Stitch Dial tension 8 Sock #1: With waste yarn, cast on 22L to 22 R Knit a few rows in waste yarn. Hang cast on comb and weights.
Toe:
With Carriage on left - Change to toe color yarn. Pull all needles left of O to hold Set Carriage to "l" on both sides of carriage. Knit to the right. Pull needle closest to carriage to hold. Knit to the left. Pull needle closest to carriage to hold. Knit to the right. Continue doing this and moving the weights under your working needles until you have needles left in the middle of the needles you have been working (so you should have (left to right) 7 on hold, 8 in work, 7 on hold - then all needles to left of 0 on hold). Begin reverse short rowing by puling needle opposite of carriage into working position and wrapping yarn under the first needle in hold closest to the carriage Continue doing this until all needles right of O are back in work. You have completed the toe. Set carriage back to "ll" setting on both sides of the carriage. Sock Foot: Knit 2 more rows in toe color Change to sock color Knit 32 more rows Heel: Change to heel color Repeat instructions for toe Ankle: Knit 3 rows in heel color (you don't have to do this, you could change back to the sock color prior to starting these 3 rows, but if you do it, then it looks sporty, and helps you match up the sides when seaming later) Change to sock color Knit 31 more rows (for the loose roll top sock) (alternately, you could do drop latch ribbing for the last 10 rows or so) Cast off Finishing: Sew up the side seam and use kitchener stitch on toe. Sock#2: For the second sock, make the toe and heel on the opposite side (so you would pull all needles RIGHT of O to hold) This ensures that your seams will be on the insides of both feet)
