Chic little hand-warmers, fingerless gloves, hobo gloves, or whatever you'd like to call them, these fashionable, practical little accessories knit up quickly and really come to life when you embellish them! What will yours become? Are you feeling romantic, preppiemodern, retro, classic, Bohemian, or maybe a mix of a couple or all of these things? Here is your chance to knit up a pair and express yourself with you very own Muffatees! Below you will find a basic pattern with suggestions for variations at the end. Materials:

Needles: US Sz 8 (straights are fine - these mitts are knitted flat) Yarn: Worsted Weight Sizes: S (M, L, XL) Hand Circumference 7", 7 %2", 8", 8 %2" Directions For Garter Stitch Version (Knit Stitch Only): CO 30 (32, 34, 36) st. Knit all rows until piece measures 3 1/2 inches from cast on (CO) edge. Bind off (BO). Using tails from CO and BO, seam 1 1/2” from bottom. Weave in end. Seam %" from top.Weave in end.

Directions For Stockinette Stitch Version (Knit Stitch and Purl Stitch):

CO 34 (36, 38, 40) st. Row 1: \*K2, P2\* repeat to end of row. Knit the stitches that present as knit stitches and purl the purls to end of row. Rows 3 & 4: Repeat Rows 1 & 2 one more time. Row 5: Knit. Row 6: Purl. Repeat Rows 5 & 6 until piece measures 3 inches from CO edge. Repeat Rows 1-4. BO all stitches in pattern. (This is the top of the mitt.) Using tails from CO and BO, seam 1 1/2” from bottom. Weave in end. Seam %" from top.Weave in end.

Embellish:
