14 Points Washcloth design by Robin Dykema. 2016

Inspired by the Almost-Lost Washcloth knit pattern. Supplies: Worsted Weight Cotton Yarn (such as Sugar and Cream, Knit Picks Dishie, etc) 1.5-2 oz Size H (5.0mm) Crochet hook Scissors, tapestry needle Stitches Used: (US terminology) Ch - Chain. Sl St - Slip Stitch. BLO - Back Loops Only.
Notes:
This is a slip-stitch project, and it is important to keep your stitches loose and comfortable. Your hook should slide through your slip stitches the way it would The structure is based on the short row technique familiar to knitters. Each repeat creates a sort of wedge shape, which gradually form the circular shape of this washcloth. Turning chains do not count as stitches. When working into a st from a previous row, you will be working in the back loops only (BLO); this gives texture and structure. When working a slip-stitch into a ch-2 sp, work through the chain-space as you normally would.
Instructions:
1. Leaving approximately a 6" tail, chain 17. Turn. 2. Sl st in second chain from hook and next 2 chains, ch 2 (counts as one space here and throughout) Do not skip any chains. Sl st in next 11 stitches, leaving 2 chains unworked. Chain 1, turn. (14 sl st, 1 ch-2 sp) 3. Sl st BLO in first 11 sts, 1 sl st in ch-2 sp, and in BLO of rem 3 sts. Chain 1, turn (15) 4. Sl st BLO in the first 3 sts, then ch 2 (skip 0), sl st (BLO) in next 9 stitches. Chain 1, turn (12 sl st, 1 ch-2 sp) 5. Sl st BLO in first 9 sts, 1 sl st in ch-2 sp, and in rem 3 sts. Ch 1, turn. (13) 6. Sl st, BLO, in the first 3 sts, ch 2 (skip 0), sl st next 6 sts. Chain 1, turn (9 sl st, 1 ch-2 sp) 7. Sl st, BLO, in first 6 sts, leaving remaining sts unworked. Ch 1, turn (6) 8. Sl st, BLO, in first 3 sts, ch 2 (skip 0), sl st BLO next 3 sts, then continue on sl st in BLO of unworked sts from previous rows. Ch 1, turn (15 sl st, 1 ch-2 sp) 9. Sl st, BLO, in first 12 sts, sl st in ch-2 sp and rem 3 sts. (16) 10. Repeat steps 2 - 9 13 times, omitting step 9 from the last repeat. (you should have 14 points and end in the center edge of your work). End off leaving approximately 12" tail for sewing. 11. Using long tail, sew BLO of last row stitched to free loops of beg chain (16 stitches). Fasten off, weave in tail to secure. Using beginning tail, weave tail through end stitches of the center, and pull tight to close center circle; weave in tail to secure.
