Gauge:
24 stitches and 32 rows over 4" in Stockinette stitch unstretched
Hat:
Cast on 60 stitches. Divide stitches evenly between three needles, place marker, and join for working in the round. Work in garter stitch for 6 rounds, (purl one round, knit one round) beginning with a purl round. Work in Stockinette stitch for 4 inches Decrease as follows: Round 1: \*K2tog, knit to end of needle; repeat from \* around. 3 stitches decreased. Round 2: Knit. Repeat these two rounds until three stitches remain. Break yarn, draw through remaining stitches and pull closed.
Finishing:
Weave in ends and block as desired.
