Yarn Used: Vanna's Choice Solids in Aqua Size: should fit a 21 inch (circumference) head Hook: 6.00mm J Note: This pattern uses American terminology. A Bracket indicates a repeat. This hat is made working in spirals, so make sure to place a stitch marker between every round.
Abbreviations:
st = stitch sc = single crochet Hat: sC 6 into magic loop Round 1-2: 1 sc in each st around (6 st) Round 3: [2 sc in next st] 6 times around (12 st) Round 4-5: 1 sc in each st around (12 st) Round 6: [2 sc in next st, sc in next st] 6 times around (18 st) Round 7-8: 1 sc in each st around (18 st) Round 9: [2 sc in next st, sc in next 2 st] 6 times around (24 st) Round 10-11: 1 sc in each st around (24 st) Round 12: [2 sc in next st, sc in next 3 st] 6 times around (30 st) Round 13-14: 1 sc in each st around (30 st) Round 15: [2 sc in next st, sc in next 4 st] 6 times around (36 st) Round 16-17: 1 sc in each st around (36 st) Round 18: [2 sc in next st, sc in next 5 st] 6 times around (42 st) Round 19-20: 1 sc in each st around (42 st) Round 21: [2 sc in next st, sc in next 6 st] 6 times around (48 st) Round 22-23: 1 sc in each st around (48 st) Round 24: [2 sc in next st, sc in next 7 st] 6 times around (54 st) Round 25-26: I sc in each st around (54 st) Round 27: [2 sc in next st, sc in next 8 st] 6 times around (60 st) Round 28-33: 1 sc in each st around (60 st) Finish off and weave in the ends. If this hat is too big for you, end a bit sooner: after a round that has an increase (rounds 27, 24, 21, 28, etc.), just skip straight to rounds 28-33. If this hat is to0 smal for you, continue to follow the pattern (one round adding [sc increase, add 1 sc to the previous number of sc] 6 times, then two rounds of [1 sc in each st around]) and then add four rounds of [1 sc in each st around] once the hat has reached the right circumference.
