Cozying Up with Miyazaki Inspiration: A Norwegian-Style Knit Hat Pattern for Winter's Chill

I confess that I am not a fan of winter, nor very fond of fall, but l have always been an avid fan of Hayao Miyazaki's wonderful animated films. Combining the cheerful motifs of Totoros, soot sprites, and acorns from My Neighbor Totoro made a hat warm enough for winter and bursting with the brightness of summer. This hat is knit in a typical Norwegian construction: there are four repeats of the colorwork pattern, and instead of decreasing evenly across the round, the brim uses mirrored decreases to taper neatly to the crown. My hat was knit using three colors, but the design would work just fine with two (MC and CC).
