Materials:
Caron Simply Soft yarn in 2 colors US size 9 long circular needle, at least 30" US size 9 double pointed needles (or 2 circs/magic loop, if preferred) Gauge is not very important; this will make a child-sized scarf.
To begin:
Cast on 200 stitches with the main color. Work in garter stitch for 24 rows (knit every row), ending after having worked a right side row. Turn.
Windows:
On the wrong side, K6, \*BO5, $\mathsf{K}\mathsf{G}^{\star}$ 16 times, then K18 to the end of the row. Leave a the live stitches on the cable. Turn. On the right side, BO18 for front end of the bus. $\star_{\sf K}$ back and forth over the next 6 stitches for 5 rows. Leave live stitches on needle, cut yarn, attach yarn to next set of live stitches.\* Repeat between the asterisks until the last set of live stitches has been worked, then K6 to the end of the row. Turn. When attaching the yarn to the next sets of stitches, be sure to tighten it after the first row to minimize gaps, and weave in the ends well. Do not cut yarn. On the wrong side, $^{\star}\mathsf{K}6$ $\tt G O5^{\star}$ across to the last 6 stitches and then K6. Turn and knit 6 rows in garter stitch. Switch to Color B, knit 2 rows in garter stitch. Switch to Color A, knit 2 rows in garter stitch. Switch to Color B, knit 6 rows in garter stitch. BO.
Wheels:
Make 2 with Color B. Cast on 8 to DPN, 2 circs, or Magic Loop. Join into a circle. Round 1 K Round $2^{\star}\mathsf{K}\mathsf{f}/\mathsf{b}^{\star}$ around Round 3 K Round $4\ {}^{\star}\mathsf{K}\mathsf{1}$ , Kf/b\* around Round 5 K Round 6 \*K2, Kf/b\* around Round 13 Purl Round $14\star{\sf K}6$ , Kf/b\* around Round 15 Purl BO and sew wheels to the scarf.
