This calendar or any portion thereof may not be reproduced or used in any manner whatsoever without the express written permission of the publisher. Thank you to all who contributed to the making of the first ever Buried in Stash (2015) Calendar. I thank the models, especially, Pat Sample, CPainter and Sandi. You each went above and beyond in an effort to make this light, fun work. Thank you to the photographers, as well. D. Sample for January, D. painter for March and December, Petra Vatne forJune and August, and a huge thanks to Alyson Thomas and her great photographic eye. Aly photographed February, April, May, and October. We wouldn't have pictures at all without all of you. Most of our pics were “homegrown,” and I think we did a smash-up job. And to Chris Magor, owner of Stationery & stuff, thank you for sharing your knowledge and expertise and for printing the hard copies of the calendar. This was a much bigger undertaking than I anticipated when I started, but Ilearned a lot along the way. What I learned should make 2016 a breeze! If you are a knitter, indie designer, indie dyer, yarn seller, or photographer and would like to submit photos to be considered for inclusion in the 2016 Buried in Stash Calendar, see the page below and look for the "2016 Buried in Stash'" thread in the Colorworks by Debi group on Ravelry. The Buried in Stash 2016 Calendar is already being planned. This year, we are looking for indie designers, dyers, yarn stores, photographers, and knitters to submit photos along with an ID and bio to accompany your pic (Please see specs below). If you are a knitting-related business, you are free to include a website link or other contact info, and your ID can be your business name Any who wish to have their national or regional knitting event or retreat listed in the calendar grid may also submit the 2016 dates for that event. If your photo is chosen, you will receive the free advertising your inclusion will provide as well as a copy of the calendar.
Submission specifications
Bio: Maximum 250 characters including spaces. Include how you want to be ID'd, (e.g. name, Ravelry name, business name, etc) Submit this as a separate Word doc along with your photo. We may ask you to edit your bio, if it is grammatically unsound. We will not change your text without contacting you. PEGs with a high resolution (min. 300dpi). No lo-res pics will be considered. Use landscape page orientation. subject of the photo should be off-center to allow room for bio text insertion. Pictures need to be thematically simple, with a plain, solid (ish), non-intrusive background. Do not use wrinkled sheets or tablecloths as backgrounds No festooning of fabric. If you desire to have your pic accompany a specific month, consider choosing a theme that willrepresent that month. Use humor. Use style. Be creative. Catch our interest! All photos need to be knitting-related and should show yarn in some form, preferably as “stash." All submissions should be emailed to CoeDeborah@aol.com with the subject “2016 Buried in Stash Calendar." Deadline for submissions is Mayl, 2015. Submit as many photos as you'd like, as often as you'd like up to the deadine. If your photo is chosen, you will receive a response by June 1, 2015. If you do not hear from us by that date, we did not choose your photo for inclusion at this time. You are free to inquire. Thank you! Deborah Tomasello CoeDeborah @ aol.com
