Verily Knits

Knits, all rights reserved. Pattern for personal use only. Contact: verilyknits@gmail.com I love pretty lacey shawls, but I also love simplicity, this shawl combines the two; simple lace that is easy to tackle which results in a wonderful shawl. But the best thing about this pattern is it's multiplicity, there are two different shapes to chose from and two different styles and you can knit it in any weight yarn.
Materials:
You will need a minimum of 280yds / 229m for a small triangular shawl and 400yds / 366m for a small squared crescent. All over lace crescent sample used 426yds of laceweight yarn Lace edged triangle sample used 348yds of bulky yarn. 4 stitch markers for triangular, 6 for squared crescent Needles (for all over lace just the larger size needle for each yarn weight is required) Laceweight US2 / 2.75mm & US4 / 3.5mm Fingering/4ply US3 / 3.25mm & US6 / 4mm Sport US4 / 3.5mm & US7 / 4.5mm DK US6 / 4mm & US9 / 5.5mm Worsted US7 / 4.5mm & US10 / 6mm Aran US9 / 5.5mm & US11/ 7.5mmBulky US10.5 / 6.5mm & US13 / 9mm
Gauge:
Gauge is not important, you are looking for a light drapey fabric that is not too dense. Try it out, if you like how it looks then go with those needles
Abbreviations:

You first need to decide whether you want all-over lace or just a lace border, then you need to decide on which shape, either triangular or squared crescent. The instructions are seperated into all lace or lace border with both shapes detailed within each set of instructions. I recommend reading the whole way through the pattern first, then highlighting the appropriate sections for yur shawl choice.

Blocking
To block the triangular shawl, first pin the top edge out in a straight line before pulling the centre point down and pin it, then pull all of the points out evenly. To block the squared crescent shawl, pin the top edge out first in a gentle crescent, then pull the two division points down and pin them, finally pull all of the points out evenly. Weave in all ends once the shawl has completely dried.
