INSTRUCTIONS
Body (includes legs) MAKE 2 x IDENTICAL BODY PIECES INCLUDING LEGS Legs #Using 4mm needles and black DK yarn cast on 1osts. Knit every row until work measures 2.5 cms from cast on edge. Change to cream DK yarn. Knit every row until work measures 5cms from cast on edge.# Next Row: K5,cast off 5 sts. Break yarn leaving remaining 5sts on spare needle. Repeat from #to #. Next Row: Cast off 5sts, K5. Break yarn. Place both sets of 5sts on one needle so that the cast on edges face each other (see photo) Work across all stitches in cream yarn as follows: Next Row: K5 sts from one leg, cast on 1osts. K5 sts from remaining leg.(2osts) Continue knitting every row using cream yarn until work measures 1ocms from black cast on edge. Cast off loosely. Valerie Owens Valerian Designs @2015 Head Using 4mm needles and cream DK yarn cast on 1o sts. Next Row: Knit to end. Next Row: K1\*M1, K1\* repeat from \* to \* to last st, K1. (18sts) Knit every row until work measures 5 cms from cast on edge. Change to black DK yarn. Knit 2 rows. Next Row: K2tog to end. (9sts) Next Row: Knit to end. Next Row: K1,K2tog to end. (5sts) Break yarn leaving 30 cm length of yarn. Thread through remaining stitches, gently pull together, stitch securely and fasten off. Ears (Make 2 identical) Using 4mm needles and black DK yarn place a loop on needle to form one stitch. Knit into front and back and front again of loop to make 3sts. Knit one row. Next Row: K1, M1,K1, M1, K1. (5sts) Knit three rows. Next Row: K2tog, K2tog, K1 (3sts) Next Row: SL1,K2tog, psso. Fasten off. Nappy Using 4mm needles and yellow DK yarn cast on 4osts. Next Row: Knit to end. Decrease Rows: 1st Row: SL1, K1, psso, knit to last 3sts K2tog, K1. 2nd Row: Knit to end. Repeat these 2 rows until 6 sts remain. Next Row: SL1, K2tog, psso, K2tog, K1.(3sts) Next Row: K3tog. Fasten off.
MAKE UP (See photos) 1.Body - Place body pieces one on top of the other so that legs are on left and right with body in centre.
2. Fold legs in half width ways. Stitch all three sides of legs. Stitch side edges of body together, joining top of legs to main body seams. Leave gaps at top and bottom of body section.
3. Turn work inside out and draw a thread of cream yarn through each stitch at bottom of body. Pull stitches together gently and stitch securely. This forms a pocket.
4.Turn work the right way around and fill body 'pocket' with stuffing, leaving legs unstuffed.
5. Head - Using cream yarn draw thread through stitches at cast on edge, gently pulling them together and stitch securely. Fasten off.
6. Stuff head and stitch onto opening at top of body. 7. Stitch facial features using pink yarn for mouth. 8. Attach one ear on either side of head level with top of eyes.
