Cast on 184 sts in chestnut with the long-tail cast-on method. 1st row is WS-row. Work 6 rows in rib pattern, then continue 1 row in st st, change to the second color and purl 1 row. Work in pattern until you have worked 30 rows (incl. the ridges). Next RS-row: selv st, k 13, p 1, (k 2, p 2) 5x, k 2, p 1, work remaining sts in st st, selv st. The bold sts mark the pocket cuff. Work 3 rows in st st, but do work the cuff sts as they appear, in rib pattern. In next wS row, bind off cuff sts and work to end of row. Do not break yarn. Leave all sts on 32" circular needle and set aside.
Cast on 26 sts in green with the long-tail cast-on method. Work 24 rows in st st, change to brown and work 4 rows in st st. In next Rs-row work as follows: selv st, k2tog, k to the last 3 sts, SSK, selv st. P 1 WS-row. Start joining at the right side of the right front. Work pocket sts in place of the bound off sts and work according to pattern. Continue in color work until the whole piece measures 9 inches. Make sure to end with the 4th row (wS) of a color. Do not break yarn. Leave all sts on 32" circular needle and set aside and work the sleeves.

SLEEVES (2×x)
Cast on 62 sts in chestnut with the long-tail cast-on method. 1st row is Ws-row. Work 6 rows in rib pattern, then continue 1 row in st st, change to the second color and purl 1 row. Work in pattern until the piece measures 10 inches. Make sure to end with the 4th row (ws) of the same color like the body. Put the first and the last 4 sts on a stitch holder.
JOIMNG
In next RS-row, join the sleeves to the body: Start at the right side of the body: k 42, put 8 sts on a stitch holder, k 54 sleeve sts, k 84 sts of the back, put 8 sts on a stitch holder, k 54 sleeve sts, k 42 sts of the left front. Continue in color work until the piece measures 3 inches from joining. Make sure to end with last RS-row before the next color change. Decreasing row: selv st, \*k1, k2tog, repeat from \* to the last 3 sts, k2, selv st. Work 15 rows in color work, then repeat the decreasing row. Work 7 rows in color work, then repeat the decreasing row a second time. K 1 row. P 1 WS-row and increase 3 sts at the back part. Work 5 rows in rib pattern and bind off all sts.
BUTTOHHOLE BAND AND BUTTON BAND
Pick up 88 sts along the right front in chestnut and work in rib pattern. In 2nd RS row work the buttonholes by the 1-row-method: selv st, k2, (work buttonhole, k 14 in patt) 5x, k2, selv st Work in rib pattern until you have worked 7 rows, BO all sts in next ws row. Repeat the band on the left side, without buttonholes.

FINISHING
Sew up sleeve seams in mattress stitch. Graft the underarm sts together in Kitchener stitch. Sew on buttons opposite the buttonholes and weave in ends.
