This is a deceptively easy scarf to knit, and a great beginner project. A new knitter could complete this in one evening. Also makes a great last minute gift! Size: One Size (4"x42") Suitable for an adult or a child Gauge: 7 stitches per 4", although gauge is not terrible important Materials: Lion Brand Homespun (1 skein will make 2 scarves), size 19 straight needles Note: Each scarf will use 1/2 of a skein of yarn, and you will hold the yarn doubled. To make this easier, start off by winding your yarn from both ends at the same time, into a ball (or cake, if using a ball winder). If you have a kitchen scale, it would be helpful to wind your yarn into two balls of equal weight, at this point. If you do not have a scale, knit until your scarf measuresapprox42"

Instructions:

1. Cast on 7 stitches 2. Knit in stockinette stitch (knit every stitch) on all rows, until you have used 12 of the yarn, or until your scarf measures 42". tip: Since your yarn is held doubled, you will have 2 loops of yarn for each stitch. Be sure to knit into both loops. If you are a new knitter, if will be helpful to count your stitches for the first few rows, to be sure you still have 7 stitches. 3. Bind off and weave in both ends.
