Basic Drawstring Bag
This pattern will make one small drawstring bag and is a quick, easy way to hold many different things! I intended this to hold dice for role-playing games, but I also have made them to hold coins, sewing supplies, buttons and as gift bags! The possibilities are endless!
Before you begin:
This pattern is worked in the round and is in US terminology. The completed bag size when flat is 7" high and 5" wide. A soda can will easily fit inside and will be able to close around it. You will need to know the following techniques in crochet to complete this pattern: Magic Ring, HDC, DC, SC, SLP and Back Loop Only stitches

Yarn: Worsted Weight in approx. 80 yards. Hooks: 4.75mm (size 7) and 2.75mm (size C) ·Other Notions: darning needle to weave in ends and a button with reasonably large holes to secure the closing.
Bag Pattern:
Round 1: Magic Ring with 9 HDC. Pull ring tight and SLP to join. (9 HDC) Round 2: Chain one. \*2 HDC in each stitch\* around. SLP to beginning chain one. (18HDC) Round 3: Chain one. \*HDC, 2HDC\* around. SLP to beginning chain one. (27 HDC) Round 4: Chain one. \*HDC, HDC, 2 HDC\* around. SLP to beginning chain one. (36 HDC) Round 5: Chain one. Cord:
● Using small hook, chain 85 tightly or until 12" is achieved. It is important that you do this as tight as you can. ·Weave the cord in Round 19, weaving between each DC post. There will be two DC posts between the two ends. Thread the ends through the holes of a button to help secure the closing, and knot the ends of the cord.
Optional additions:
To really make your drawstring bag great, cut fabric 1" wider than the bag outline and sew together to make an inner pocket to sew into the bag! This creates stability and adds a nice touch.
