Instructions:

Dc cluster = work 3 dc into the same stitch or space.

Foundation chain: chain 138

Row 1: 1 dc into 3rd chain from the hook. \*Skip 2 stitches. 3 dc into the next stitch\*. Repeat across to make a total of 45 dc clusters. 2 dc into the last chain. Ch2. Turn. Row 2: 3 dc into first space between clusters of previous row. Repeat all the way across putting a 3dc cluster in each space. (You should have 46 clusters.)1 dc into the top of the ch2 at the end of the row. Cut yarn and weave in ends. (Yeah right! Like you don't leave them tangled until the end like I do...) Row 3: Join new colour. Ch 2. 1 dc in same space as the ch2. Dc clusters allthe way across. 2 dc in top of the ch 2 at the end of the row. Ch 2. Turn. (45 clusters) Row 4: dc clusters all the way across. 1 dc in top of ch 2 at the end of the row. Cut yarn and weave in ends. (46 clusters) Repeat rows 3 and 4 for another 58 more rows. You should end up with 60 stripes, each made up of two rows of dc clusters. This was the right size blanket for me - but of course you can continue adding rows if youwish.

: The border is made up of 4 rounds. I used a different colour for each roun Round 1: Make dc clusters around the whole blanket. You can use the spaces along the rows as in the pattern above for the top and the bottom, and the spaces in between the colour changes along the sides. Make the clusters 5dc in the corners.

Round 2: 1 dc in each stitch around. 2 dc in the 3 stitches at each corner. (Use the 3 st that are in the middle of the 5 dc cluster from the previous round.) Round 3: 1 hdc in each stitch around. 2 dc in the 3 stitches at each corner. Round 4: 1 sc in each stitch around.
