Supplies needed: Size I crochet hook 880 yards lightweight fingering wool yarn Finished measurements after washed and blocked are $25^{\circ}$ wide and $73^{\circ}$ long Gauge is 5 rows of 12 dc to 4" Fringe: Cut fringe first and set aside for later Cut 96 strips ofyar 18inchesong. Pattern: Chain (ch) 59 Row 1: 4 double crochet (dc), ch 3, de in $\mathbf{6}^{\mathrm{th}}$ ch from hook, \* skip next 4 ch, ( 4 dc, ch 3, dc) in next ch.\* Repeat from $*_{\mathrm{~-~}}*$ across to last 3 ch. Then skip next 2 chains dc in last ch, turn. Row 2: Ch 3 (counts as de), (4dc, ch 3, dc) in each ch 3 space acros to last ch 3 space. Then skip next 4 dc and dc in top of turning ch. Turn. Repeat row 2 for pattern. Total of 59 rows. Row 60: Ch 3 (counts as de), (4dc, ch 3, dc) in each ch 3 space across and in last ch 3 space. Continue in pattern working down side of shawl by skipping every other row and working in the ch 3 spaces only. Counting the corner groups you should have 30 groups of (4 dc, ch 3, dc). Then working along bottom of shawl work pattern in same stitch as was worked in row 1. Total of 11 groups of pattern across bottom not counting corner stitches. Now working down other side of shawl Skip $1^{\mathrm{{st}}}$ loop at corner and working in next ch 3 space work pattern skipping every other row. 30 groups of pattern worked. Attach with slip stitch to top of dc in corner. Finish off Attach Fringe in groups of4 strands in ch 3 spaces along edges. 12 times each side. Wet shawl and gently squeze out or spin out excess water Lay flat to dry gently stretching to size (25 $\textbf{x}73$ ) and pin in place to maintain shape until dry.
