Green Stripe for Red Scarf

If you need a quick crocheted scarf pattern forthe Red Scarf project, this one fits the bill. The scarfis crocheted lengthwise, using single crochet through the back loop. Easy peasy! Here are two versions. Green Scarf Yarn: Handspun two-ply 100 % wool, (5-1/2 oz, 158 g, Hook: Sizej 450 yds) Gauge: No one cares! Ok,then: 11 sc / 4 inches Dimensions: F6 inches x 5inches sc - single crochet MC -main color ch-chain tbl - through the back loop CC - contrast color
For Green Scarf:
Chain 195. Turn. RoW 1: sc tbl across. Ch 1, turu. Rows 2 - 26: Repeat Row 1. Bind off. Forthegreenhandspunvariegatedversion,justtake a nap while you crochet -I did. Stripes occur magically!
Tasselly-Fringe Things - Not just for Cats:

For Green Scarf version:
If fringe is desired, pre-cut 140 pieces of14-inch yarn. I used aF-inch square piece of cardboard, and wrapped the yarn around it. cut yarn at the bottom edge. Set far aside where cats and kids can't get into it. Finish scarf. Use five pieces of pre-cut yarn, if you can still find them, for each tassel. Fold in half and attach at ends of scarf at each ridge. Trim edges even.
For Red Scarf version:
Pre-cut 50 pieces of14-inch yarn. Use five pieces of yarn, folded in half, for each tassel, placing one tassel at the end of each color stripe on both ends of scarf. NOTe: You will need about 20 yds forthe fringe. If usingjust Mc for fringe, you may not need the Qnd skein of cc. Paton's Shetland chunky Tweed, (F2% acrylic, 25% wool, and 3% viscose), 108 yds / 3 0z. / 85g per skein. Will need: 2skeins Mc, 2 skeins CC SizeN 8 sc/4 inches Measures Fo iuches x 6 inches Hook: Gauge: Dimensions: Chain140 with MC. Turn Row 1: sc tbl across. ch 1, turn Rows 2-3: Repeat Row 1 Row 4: sc tbl across. change to CC. ch 1, turu Rows 5-7: Repeat Row 1 Row 8: sc tbl across. change to MC. Ch I, turu. Rows 9-11: Repeat Row 1 Row 12: Repeat Row 4 Rows 13-15: Repeat Row 1 R0w 16: Repeat Row 8 Rows 17-20: Repeat Row 1. Bind off.
