Donny-Variations: Elastic Cap Knitting Patterns with Short Rows and Color Variants for Beanies and Carded Hats

On the following pages three variants are presented how to riff an elastic cap without needle in rounds, but worked flat. In this case, its form through the use of short rows. The elasticity is obtained by the change of stockinette stitch to reverse stockinette, who meet again by the short rows and the color choice to the tips. Whether you decorate the hat with a pompom or idiots, remains one yourself and let the creativity. Gauge: 24 stitches and 30 rows result 10x10 cm (measured in stockinette stitch) Needle: 5 mm The 3 caps weigh 73-83 g, which corresponds to a wool length of 150-170 meters per cap.

Variante 1

3 colors -> one color for the smooth right background and two colors, alternating for the smooth left elevations in the foreground. With 55 stitches cap has a length to wear as a beanie or carded. The cap is worn on both sides depending on your taste. The two unused colors are from the last stitch "ensnared" and so easily carried along until it's your turn again. So it saves the hassle of stitching and the edge remains elastic. The knitting chart x 4 finished. The last row of the 4th Sewing pattern set as a kitchener stitch on the first row.

Variante 2

3 colored -> two colors for the background and a smooth right color on the one stitch of the other colors is lifted in exchange for the smooth left elevation in the foreground.

Variante 3

This cap is reduced in length (minus 5-10 stitches) and has between the 2 colored alternating a yoke, for example to use it for applicate logos. With 50 stitches you get a hat with lace. Who does not like that only knit with 45 stitches. Outside the yoke, the color you don't use will be entangles by the last stitch and so easily carried, until it is her turn again. So you minimize the stitching and the edge remains elastic. The knitting chart 3 x plus finished once with yoke. The last row of the 4th Sewing pattern set as a kitchener stitch on the first row.
