1 skein (or partial skein) classic elite yarns isabella or any yarn that knits up to gauge sz 8 dp needles

gauge : 16 sts $=4^{\,\mathfrak{s}}$ in stockinette st (row gauge doesn't count, just end when it's "long enough" for your own taste.)
beginning at the top
co 20 sts.

neck ribbing join to knit in the round. k1, p1 rib for 2 inches. begin spiral pattern row 1 : k4, p1 to end. row 2 : p1, k4 to end. row 3 :k1. (p1, k4) to last 4 stitches. p1, k3. row 4 : k2. (p1, k4) to last 3 stitches. p1, k2. row 5 : k3. (p1, k4) to last 4 stitches. p1, k1. note : in each new round you are simply knitting over the purl stitch of the last round and then purling the next stitch. this repeats 4 or 5 times per round depending just where in the sequence the round starts. repeat rows 1 thru 5 until the sweater is the “right" length. i stopped at 12". weave in loose ends. slide on & slither away.
