Grandma Grossie's Doily
In April 2014, I was asked if I was good at figuring out a pattern. I hadn't had much experience, but I was willing to try! I was sent pictures of a multi-colored doily, so I set to work. Here's my adaptation of the pattern originally made by AL Steinhagen. Pictures of original doily provided by C Flathers. Please feel free to use the pattern, share the pattern, sell what you make. Materials: Size 10 crochet cotton Size 4/2.0mm steel crochet hook Pattern: Color may be changed at each section at symbol by pulling new color through last two loops of the old color. Ch 4, join with slst in 1st ch to form ring. SECTION 1 : 1: Ch 3 (counts as 1st dc); work 19 dc in ring; join with slst to beg st. (2 Row 2: Ch 4 (counts as 1st dc, ch 1); dc in next dc and ch 1 around, joining with slst to 3rd ch of beginning ch 4. (20 dc & ch-1 spaces) Row 3: Slst in 1st ch-1 space, ch 5 (counts as 1st dc, ch 2); dc in next ch-1 space and ch 1 around, joining with slst to 3rd ch of beginning ch 5. (20 dc & ch-2 spaces) Row 4: Slst in 1st ch-2 space, ch 6 (counts as 1st dc, ch 3); dc in next ch-2 space, ch 3 around, joining with slst to 3rd ch of beginning ch 6. (20 dc & ch-3 spaces) Row 5: Slst in 1st ch-3 space, ch 3, dc in same space, ch 2. Skip to next ch-3 space; work 2 dc, ch 2 around. Join with slst to 3rd ch of beginning ch 3.
