I like the look of lace. I also like patterns that I don't have to concentrate on too much (short attention span) so I did this pattern with this in mind—only 3 "pattern" rows to worry about s0 it's great for anyone wanting a beginner lace scarf that looks spectacular—and will look great with a variety of yarns! I used a beautifully

variegated Noro in a wool/silk blend for my sample. 4 Skeins Noro Silk Garden (or similar), 4 buttons for finishing (optione Needles: 5.0 mm (Il used a 24 in. circular) If you would like a “lacier", more airy knit, use a larger needle size. Gauge: Not so important Size: Finished size (unblocked) 14" x 48' Abbreviation used: skp2p - yarn to front, slip 1, yarn to back, knit 2 stitches together, pass slipped stitch over
Pattern (over multiples of 8 stitches +1):
Row 1 (RS) - \*k1, yo, k2, skp2p, k2, yo, rep from \* to last stitch, k1. Rows 2, 4, 6 (WS) - Purl Row 3 - \*K2, yo, k1, skp2p, k1, yo, k1, rep from \* to last stitch, k1. Row 5 - \*K3, yo, skp2p, yo, k2, rep from \* to last stitch, k1.
Scarf Instructions:
CO 59 stitches. Work 10 rows of garter stitch. (Edges on either side of “pattern" stitches will remain in garter stitch. Next and continuing rs rows: K 5, “pattern" 49 stitches, k5. WS rows: K5, p49, k5. Continue until piece measures 47"; work 5 rows of garter stitch. Next row (button holes if desired—if not, continue in garter stitch for this row) K 7, yo, k2tog, \*k15 yo, k2 tog (repeat from\* 2 more times), k7. Work 4 rows in garter stitch; BO.
