Burning sand
by Maggy Vremec easy knitting for busy people

Long summer tunic. Simple in sand colour. Size: M (ita 44, EU 38) Finished bust measurements: 85 to 90 cm Finished lenghth to shoulder: 67 cm Material: $300~\mathrm{g}$ cotton Needles: n. 4, circular needle n. 4 and 3 Gauge 20 sts and 29 rows $\left(10\ \mathrm{cm}\right)$ Stitch pattern: 1k1p for two rows each 6 rows (see the photo $\rightarrow$

Front
Cast on 104 sts. with needles n. 4. Rib 1p1k for $5\;\mathrm{{cm}}$ . Knit 6 rows in stockinet stitch, in $7^{\mathrm{th}}$ and $8^{\mathrm{th}}$ road 1k1p, repeat. Each first 1k1p row decrease $1^{\mathrm{st}}$ and last stitch 5 times so you have 94 sts on your needles.(see the photo below). Continue to knit until you reach $45-50~\mathrm{cm}$ from the beginning, depends on the length you prefer. For the arm holes bind off $^\textrm{\scriptsize1x3}$ and $^\textrm{\scriptsize1x2}$ sts on both sides beginning in the third row from 1p1k row. Hold remaining 84 sts on the needle.

Circular needle or joke part.
Back
The same as the front. Keep the last 84 sts on the needle.
Sleeves
Cast on 62 sts. Knit $1\mathrm{p}1\mathrm{k}$ rib for about $2\;\mathrm{cm}$ Do one stitch pattern (i.e. 6 stockinette stitch, $2(1\mathrm{p}1\mathrm{k}))$ bind off $^\textrm{\scriptsize1x3}$ and $^\textrm{\scriptsize1x2}$ sts on both sides beginning in the third row from 1p1k row, just as you've made for front and back part arm holes.

After joining together front, left sleeve, back and right sleeve we have 272 sts on the needles. Because of ribbing (1p1k) we need odd number of stitches. We knit 1st and last st. together so we have 271 sts. Knit for 2 pattern repetitions (i.e. about 6 cm). First row after second 1p1k is 1st decreasing row. 1st decreasing: each 4 sts knit two sts together. Final decreasing is after 5 instead of 4 sts: 000000 100 sts 150 sts 00000 00 200 sts 0000000000000000000 00000 0000 250 sts 0000 0000000000 000000 271 sts $(84\substack{+52\,+84\,+52\,-1})$ We have decreased for 54 sts. Now we have 217 sts. Knit 6 rows (one pattern repetition). In the last row before the final neck band ribbing do $2^{\mathrm{nd}}$ decreasing. 2nd decreasing: each 4 sts knit two sts together. Last decreasing is made after 5 instead of after 4 sts. 50 sts 0 15 sts 0000000000000000000000000000000000 0000 000000000 200 sts 0000 0000 00000000 217 sts Now we have 43 sts less, that is 174 sts. Start knitting collar band i.e. 1p 1k with the circular needle n. 3. Knit for about $2\;\mathrm{cm}$ .Continue with $3^{\mathrm{rd}}$ and the last decreasing. 3rd decreasing: after 8 sts knit 2 st together twice. (In this way you maintain 1p1k ribbing). Continue decreasing 2 sts each 9 sts. Last decrease is made after 8 instead of after 9 sts. 000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000OO 50sts 00000000000000000000000000000000000000000000O 100 sts 000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000O 150 sts 00000000000000000000000 174sts Now we have decreased other 32 sts. There are final 142 sts left. Knit for other 3 cm. Bind off.
Finishing
Sew all parts together. Good luck!

P.S. As what you see on the photo $(\leftarrow)$ is all I had in hands when I made only $3\;\mathrm{cm}$ of neck ribbing I had to leave some cm of cotton for sewing parts together - Neck ribbing was actually ment $5\;\mathrm{cm}$ , the same as on the beginning of the pullover. But I had to stop before, as you can see on the all photos.
