Body and Head
Cast on 88 sts using white yarn and 3.25mm needles. Row 1 K Change to 4mm needles Starting with a K row, continue in St st until work measure 11cm, ending with a P row Continue as follows: Row 1 (K9, K2tog) repeat until end of row (80 sts) Row 2 (P2tog, P8) repeat until end of row (72 sts) Row 3 (K Row 4 (P2tog, P7) repeat until end of row (64 sts) Row 5 (K6, K2tog) repeat until end of row (56 sts) Row 6 P Row 7 (K5, K2tog) repeat until end of row (48 sts) Row 8 (P2tog, P4) repeat until end of row (40 sts) Row 9 K Row 10 (P2tog, P3) repeat until end of row (32 sts) Row 11 (K2, K2tog) repeat until end of row (24 sts) Row 12 (P Row 13 (K1, K2tog) repeat until end of row (16 sts) Row 14 (P2tog) repeat until end of row (8 sts) Row 15 K Row 16 P
Shape Head
Row 17 K1, (M1, K1) repeat until end of row (15 sts) Row 18 P Row 19 K1, (M1, K1) repeat until end of row (29 sts) Row 20 P Row 21 K1, (M1, K2) repeat until end of row (43 sts) Row 22 P Row 23 K1, (M1, K2) repeat until end of row (64 sts) Row 24 P Rows 25 - 34 Continue in St st Row 35 K1 (K2tog, K1) repeat until end of row (43 sts) Row 36 P Row 37 K1, (K2tog, K1) repeat until end of row (29 sts) Row 28 P Row 39 K1, (K2tog) repeat until end of row (15 sts) Row 40 P Row 41 K1, (K2tog) repeat until end of row (8 sts) Row 42 P Break yarn leaving a long tail. Thread this onto a needle and pass through remaining sts and pull tight. Insert safety eyes before sewing up head and body. Using mattress stitch sew seam of head, stuff head firmly before sewing seam of body. Sew seam of body.
Arms (make 2)
Cast on 4 sts using brown yarn and 3.5mm dpns. Make i-cord for 7cm. Pick up 3 sts from top of i-cord and make i-cord for 3cm. Repeat on other side. Sew to body.
Nose
Cast on 10 sts using orange yarn and 4mm needles. Row 1 K Row 2 P1, P2tog, P4, P2tog tbl, P1 (8 sts) Row 3 K Row 4 P1, P2tog, P2, P2tog tbl, P1 (6 sts) Row 5 K Row 6 P1, P2tog, P2tog tbl, P1 (4 sts) Break yarn leaving a long tail. Thread this onto a needle and pass through remaining sts and pull tight. Sew seam and stuff lightly. Sew to head.
Scarf
Cast on 10 sts using green yarn. Row 1 (K1, P1) repeat until end of row. Repeat this row until work measures 40cm.
Tassels
Cut 20 lengths of red yarn 10cm long. Take 2 lengths and fold in half. Push folded end through one end of the scarf, pass open ends through the loop of the fold and pull tight (larks head knot). Repeat so there are 5 tassels at each end of the scarf. Cut tassels to even length. Sew to head and body.
Hat
Cast on 70 sts using green yarn. Rows 1 - 4 (K1, P1) repeat until end ofrow Change to red yarn. Rows 5 - 12 (K1, P1) repeat until end ofrow Decrease for Crown Row 13 [(K1, P1) x4, (K2tog tbl)] repeat until end of row (63 sts) Row 14 [P2tog, P1, (K1, P1) x3] repeat until end of row (56 sts) Row 15 [(K1, P1) x3, K2tog] repeat until end of row (49 sts) Row 16 [P2tog, P1, (K1, P1) x2] repeat until end of row (42 sts) Row 17 [(K1,P1) x2, K2tog] repeat until end of row (35 sts) Row 18 [P2tog, P1, K1, P1] repeat until end of row (28 sts) Row 19 [K1, P1, K2tog] repeat until end of row (21 sts) Row 20 [P2tog, P1] repeat until end of row (14 sts) Row 21 K2tog repeat until end of row (7 sts) Break yarn leaving a long tail. Thread this onto a needle and pass through remaining sts and pull tight. Seam hat. Make a pom pom and sew to top of hat. stitches of the bottom needle on a stitch
Finishing
Sew buttons to front of body. Sew on beads for eyes if not using safety eyes. Stitch mouth using black yarn.
