Pattern
1mm (Us 6) circular needle. Join into the round, being careful not to twist. Place markel \* K1, P5\* repeat for 6 rows. Change to 4.5mm (US 7) and continue with established rib pattern K1, P5 until hat measures 7".

R1: \* K1, P3, P2tog, K1, P5\* rep until the last 6 sts, K1, P3, P2tog. R2: \* K1, P4, K1, P3, P2tog\* rep until the last 5 sts, K1, P4. (74 sts) R3: \* K1, P2, P2tog, K1, P4\* rep until the last 5 sts, K1, P2, P2tog. R4: \* K1, P3, K1, P2, P2tog\* rep until the last 4 sts, K1, P3. (60 sts) R5: \* K1, P1, P2tog, K1, P3\* rep until the last 4 sts, K1, P1, P2tog. R6: \* K1, P2, K1, P1, P2tog\* rep until the last 3 sts, K1, P2. (45 sts) Divide sts on dpns. Cut yarn and using a tapestry needle, thread through the 15 remaining sts. Pull tightly and BO. Weave in all ends. Hat should measure 8 inches long. TIP: To make a smaller or larger hat, decrease or increase the CO number in multiples of 6 sts.
