Another octopus.

About copyright: do whatever you like with the pattern, but please reference where you found it! I know the pattern is not very detailed, but I hope is enough! If you have any doubts you can send me a message via Ravelry.
ABOUT YARN:
Any yarn would do nicely. I've used 1 skein of Cabaret by Stylecraft. This yarn is now discontinued. Very similar yarns are: Eskimo by Stylecraft and Brazilia by Schachenmayr Nomotta
ABOUTGAUGE:
It is not important, as far as you are consistent with your tension. ABOUTHOOK: It depends on the yarn. A 4mm would nicely for these hairy yarns.
ABOUT CROCHETTERMS:
I've followed the US terminology. Stitch: st Chain: ch Slip stitch: sl st Single crochet: sc Half double crochet: hdc Double crochet: dc Treble crochet: tr Double treble crochet: dtr Triple treble crochet: ttr
ABOUT THEPATTERN:
Head:
The pattern is rather easy: a classic pseudo-ball for the head worked in spiral: Round 1: magic ring, 9 sc (alternatively, 2 ch and 9 sc in 2nd ch from hook). Round 2: 2sc in each st (18 sts). Round 3: (2sc in next st, 1 sc in next st) repeat 9 times (27 sts). Round 4: (2sc in next st, 1 sc in next 2 sts) repeat 9 times (36 sts). Round 5: ((2sc in next st, 1 sc in next 3 sts) repeat 9 times (45 sts). Round 6: (2 sc in next st, 1 sc in next 14 sts) reeat 3 times (48 sts). Round 7: sc in each st around. Rounds 8-20: repeat round 7. And then fasten off.
Base:
Rounds 1-6: Repeat the first 5 rows of the body. Round 7 (and final): tentacles are crocheted: (20 chs, 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook, 1 sc in next 2 st, 1hdc in next 3 sts, 1 dc in next 3 sts, 1 tr in next 3 sts, 1dtr in next 3 sts, 1ttr in next 3 sts and join with sl st in the 5th sc from the st where the 20 chs started. Sl st in next sc ) repeat 8 times (the final slip st can be omitted in the 8th tentacle).
Finishing:
Stuff body, attach eyes (or embroider them) and stitch mouth. Then sew body and base together and you have your octopus!
