Hopscotch Double Wrap Cowl Knitting Pattern Using DKworsted Cotton and 3.75mm Needles

This gorgeous double wrap cowl is knit from end to end using DK/worsted weight cotton and 3.75 mm needles. Pattern has four different panels using knit and purl stitches. Last panel is worked to desired length. Pictured cowl knit with 600 meters Butterfly Super 10 Cotton. Enjoy!

Materials 600 - 750 meters DK/worsted cotton 3.75 mm needles Gauge (not crucial) 22 stitches and 30 rows = 4 inches (stockinette stitch) Measurements (approximate) 12 inches wide x 62 inches around Abbreviations K = knit P = purl SL = slip one stitch Instructions Cast on 63 stitches.

First Panel:

Rows 1, 3,5,7, 9, 11, 13, 15, 17: SL1, K6, (P7, K7) to end Rows 2,4,6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18: SL1, P6, (K7, P7) to end Rows 19, 21, 23, 25, 27,29, 31, 33, 35: SL1, P6, (K7, P7) to end Rows 20, 22, 24, 26, 28,30, 32,34, 36: SL1,K6,(P7, K7) to end Repeat these 36 rows another 2 times.

Second Panel:

Rows 1, 3, 5, 7, 9: SL1, K to end Rows 2,4,6, 8, 10: SL1, P to end Row 11: SL1, K8, P to last 9 sts, K9 Row 12: SL1, P8, K to last 9 sts, P9 Repeat rows 11 and 12 another 45 times Works rows 1 - 10 once more.

Third Panel:

Rows 1, 3: SL1, P2, (K3, P3) to end Rows 2, 4: SL1, K2, (P3, K3) to end Rows 5, 7: SL1, K2, (P3, K3) to end Rows 6, 8: SL1, P2, (K3, P3) to end Repeat rows 1 - 8 another 15 times.

Fourth Panel:

Work 6 rows of stockinette stitch (slip first stitch of each row). Work 6 rows of reverse stockinette stitch. (slip first stitch of each row). Repeat these 12 rows another 9 times or to desired length. Cast off. Join ends. Blocking is recommended.
