Materials:
- 1 skein MadelineTosh ToshDK (225 yards) Size 3 (3.25mm) double pointed needles Tapestry needle A bit of waste yarn 2 stitch markers
Gauge:
18 sts/3 in; 22 rows/3 in (reverse stockinette) Size: Women's S(M) - 7"(8.25") hand circumference

Abbreviations:
[R]: ... = instructions for the right glove [L]: ... = instructions for the left glove [R/L]: ... = instructions for both
Instructions:
[R/L]: Cast on 36(40) sts: place a marker at beginning of the round. K2, P2 ribbing for two inches. Purl 4 rounds.
Thumb Gusset:
[R/L]: cable pattern will be worked on the first half of the round with the thumb gusset either at the end of the round [L], or 3(4) sts after the cable pattern [R]. [L]: Purl 3(4) sts, use next 12 sts for pattern row 1 (6 sts added), purl to end of round, place marker (1st), make 1 st from row below, beginning of round marker is 2nd marker [43(47) sts total]. Purl 3(4) sts, use next 18 sts for pattern row 2 (6 sts added), purl to marker, purl 1, make 1 st [50(54) sts totall. [R]: Purl 3(4) sts, use next 12 sts for pattern row 1 (6 sts added), purl 3(4) sts, place marker (1s), make 1 st from row below, place marker (2"d), purl 18(20) sts to end of round [43(47) sts total]. Purl 3(4) sts, use next 18 sts for pattern row 2 (6 sts added), purl 3(4) sts to marker, purl 1, make 1 st, purl 18(20) sts to end of round [50(54) sts total].

[R/L]: Continue working in the pattern with 3(4) purl sts before the 24 sts of cable pattern, increasing for thumb on following rows: Row 4: after 1st marker - make 1 st, purl to end of round, make 1 st [52(56) sts total]. Row 7: after 1st marker - make 1 st, purl to end of round, make 1 st [54(58) sts total]. Row 10: after 1st marker - make 1 st, purl to end of round, make 1 st [56(60) sts total]. Row 13: after 1st marker - make 1 st, purl to end of round, make 1 st [58(62) sts total]. [R/L]: Continue in pattern. After row 22 of pattern, separate 10 sts of thumb onto waste yarn and continue in pattern [48(52) sts total]. MittenTopSeparation: [R/L]; After row 24, 2 sts before the end of the round, put the next 34(36) sts on waste yarn, there will 14(16) remaining live sts. From the inside of the glove, pick up only the right-side purl sts (the sts that look knit from the inside of the glove), purl the 22(24) sts that were just picked up, then purl the remaining 14(16) sts to complete the round [36(40) live sts totall. Purl 6(7) rounds. Transfer all sts onto new waste yarn.

Fingers:
[R/L]: worked with three needles Index finger: Located next to the thumb on both gloves (in case you didn't know) Place 4(5) sts from the palm side, and 5 sts from the back of the hand on two needles. Purl 4(5) sts, cast on 2 sts, and knit the remaining 5 sts [11(12) sts total]. Continue in reverse stockinette until there are 14 rows total. Bind off loosely.
Middle:
Place 5 sts from the palm side, and 4(5) sts from the back of the hand on two needles. Purl 5 sts, cast on 2 sts, knit the remaining 4(5) sts, pick up 2 sts from the side of the index finger to close the gap [13(14) sts total]. Continue in reverse stockinette until there are 16 rows total. Bind off loosely.
Transfer the 34(36) sts on waste yarn for mitten top to needles, continue pattern at row 25, at the end of the 34(36) sts, make 14(16) sts, join. Continue in pattern, for 14(16) made sts at palm continue as follows:
Small: p2, [k2, p2]x3 Medium: (p1, [k2, p2]x3, k2, p1) Continue in pattern and ribbing for 3 more rows, then purl all palm sts. At beginning of row 54 start decrease pattern (continuing with pattern throughout): even rows: [beginning and end of each side - back/palm] p2tog odd rows: [beginning of side] p1, p2tog; [end of side] 3 sts before end of side p2tog, p1 Continue in pattern and decrease pattern until there are 16 sts total. Graft remaining sts.
Ring:
Place 4(5) sts from the palm side, and 5 sts from the back of the hand on two needles. Purl 4(5) sts, cast on 1 st, knit the remaining 5 sts, pick up 2 sts from the side of the middle finger to close the gap [12(13) sts total]. Continue in reverse stockinette until there are 13 rows total. Bind off loosely.
Pinky:
Place 5 sts from the palm side, and 4(5) sts from the back of the hand on two needles. Purl 9(10) sts, pick up 1 st from the side of the ring finger to close the gap [10(11) sts total]. Continue in reverse stockinette until there are 11 rows total. Bind off loosely.
Thumb:
Place 5 sts from the palm side, and 5 sts from the back of the hand on two needles. Purl 10 sts, pick up 1 st from the side of the hand to close the gap (11 sts total). Continue in reverse stockinette until there are 10 rows total. With the 5 sts on the palm side: purl 5 sts, turn, knit 5 sts, turn, loosely bind off 4 sts, pick up one st from the side of the flat edge you just created near the remaining st, bind off last st, keep picked up st on needle. P2tog, repeat to last st, p1Break the yarn and thread it through the remaining 6 stitches. Pull tight and weave in the end.
Finishings:
Weave in all ends and use them to close any holes between the fingers (if necessary).
