This sock is knit from the toe up, using a Turkish caston, increase toe, patterned foot, wedge heel, and purled stretchy bind off. It is charted, and uses an intermediate-beginner level lace pattern. Gauge: 7 stitches/inch 11 rows/inch (note on gauge: This sock fits a women's medium foot approximately 8.5 inches around. For a smaller sock, knit with a tighter gauge - 8 stitches/inch. For a larger sock, knit with a looser gauge - 6 stitches/inch.)

Supplies:

Yarn, fingering weight (we used Madelinetosh Sock, ) L6-24" circular needles, use the size you need to get gauge (magic loop will also wol Stitch markers, 4-10 needed Darning needle Scissors

Notes:

1.Measure the length of your foot from the heel to the toe 2. M1 is a twisted lifted bar increase: insert your needle into the bar between stitch purlwise, rotate the needle clockwise to the knit position and knit the stitch. This closes the hole created with a lifted bar increase. 3. Record your numbers of stitches and rows used using the short hand sheet at the end of the pattern. Toe - using a Turkish cast-on, cast on 14 stitches on each of two circular needles, begin working in the round 1.Knit 2 rounds 2. \*K1, M1, knit to 1 stitch before the end of the needle, M1, K1\*, repeat for second needle 3. Knit Repeat rows 2 and 3 until there are 30 stitches on each needle (60 stitches total) Foot - worked in the round. Choose one needle for the instep (top) of the foot, and one needle for the sole (bottom) of the foot. Work the instep using Chart A, and knit all stitches for the sole. Work in this pattern until your sock measures 4 inches less than your foot length. Gusset Wedge - worked in three parts While continuing to work the instep stitches according to the chart, begin making increases on the sole needle as follows: 1. M1, place marker, knit all stitches on the needle, place marker, M1 2.Knit all stitches 3.M1, slip marker, knit all stitches on the needle, slip marker, M1 4.Knit all stitches 5.Repeat rows 3 and 4 until there are 10 stitches increased at the beginning and end of the Sole Turn heel - using only the sole needle and short rows work as follows: (80 stitches total, 30 on instep needle and 50 on sole needle, divided 10 -marker-30-marker-10) 1. Knit 39 stitches, slip the next stitch from the left needle to the right needle, wrap the yarn around the outside of the stitch, return the stitch to the left needle, and turn your work (this is called a wrap and turn) 2. Purl 28 stitches, wrap and turn 3. Knit 27 stitches, wrap and turn 4. Purl 26 stitches, wrap and turn 5. Knit 25 stitches, wrap and turn 6. Purl 24 stitches, wrap and turn 7. Knit 23 stitches, wrap and turn 8. Purl 22 stitches, wrap and turn 9. Knit 21 stitches, wrap and turn 10. Purl 20 stitches, wrap and turn 11. Knit 19 stitches, wrap and turn 12. Slip the last stitch from the sole needle to the instep needle and work chart A-1 for the instep, slip the last stitch from the instep needle to the sole needle and work chart A-1 for the sole needle d.Work Chart A-1 for 11 more rows e.Work Chart B once f.Work Chart C once Cuff - Bind off with a stretchy bind off as follows: Purl 2 stitches, return the stitches to the left hand needle, p2tog, \*p1, return 2 stitches to the left hand needle, p2tog\*, repeat to the end.
