This hat is named after the amazing sewing designer April Rhodes. April's photo from the 2013 Houston International Quilt Market was the inspiration for this collection.
Directions
With Color A CO 110 (132, 154) join in round. K2 P2 for 10 (12, 12) For slouchy fit change to larger needle Size S (5 chart repeats) Follow Rhodes Hat Chart Rows 1-3o then 1-11 Size M/L (6/7 chart Repeats) Follow Rhodes Hat Chart Rows 1-30 twice Knit 3(5,5) rows in color A Begin Decreases as followed Set Up Row: K11 PM \*K22 PM\* Repeat until last 11sts, K11 Remove beginning of round marker K to 2 before next marker K2tog Decrease Rounds Row 1 \*SSK Knit to next marker, slm K2tog\* Repeat all the way round Row 2 Knit Supplies 1 Skein (color A) of Quince & Co Chickadee in Honey Or The Plucky Knitter Primo Sport in Tuskadero 1 Skein (color B) of Quince & Co Chickadee in Egret or The Pucky Knitter Primo Sport in Prickly Pear 1 16 inch circular needle and Double pointed needles to obtain gauge. (suggested needle size 4 3.5 mm) 1 16 inch circular needle one size larger than needle for gauge. (Suggested needle size 5 3.75 mm) 7 Stitch markers a Darning Needle Gauge: 6 sts = 1inch Finished Sizes S/M/L 18.5 /22/25.6 inches circumference
Rhodes Hat Chart
Repeat Rows 1 & 2 4 more times. Work just row 1 until their are 2 stitches remaining between each stitch marker. Change to DPN when needed. Cut Yarn leaving longish tail with a darning needle weave through live stitches and secure on the wrong side. Block.
