·75yds/69m fingering weight yarn · US 3/3.25mm needles (double-pointed, two circulars, or one long circular for Magic Loop), or size needed to obtain recommended gauge ·waste yarn or stitch holders for sleeve stitches · 4 or 5 stitch markers · tapestry needle or crochet hook for weaving in ends

Gauge

15sts x 20 rows = 2"(5cm) in stockinette stitch. kknit ppurl rround st(s) stitch(es) k2tog k two sts together ssk slip two sts knitwise, one at a time, then k together through back loops m1r right-leaning increase: lift bar between sts and place on left needle, with left leg of the loop in front; knit into the left (front) leg of the loop m1l left-leaning increase: lift bar between sts and place on left needle, with right leg of the loop in front; knit into the left (back) leg of the loop pm place marker

Instructions between brackets should be repeated as noted (e.g. [k1, p1] 4 times).

Instructions

Cast on 28 sts and join to work in the round. The start of the round will be the center back.

Body

r1: k5, pm, k4, pm, k10, pm, k4, pm, k5. r2-4:k to end. r5: [k to 1 st before marker, m1r, k2, m1l] 4 times, k to end. (8 sts increased, 36 sts) r6:k to end. Repeat rounds 5 & 6 six more times. (84 sts) Next round: [k to marker, put 18 sleeve sts on waste yarn, cast on 2 sts with backwards loop] 2 times, k to end. (52 sts) Continue in stockinette stitch until body is 4%2" (11.4cm) long from the neck. Bind off.

Sleeves (Make 2)

Move sleeve sts to needles. The start of the round wil be the middle of the underarm. r1: Pick up and k 1 st from cast-on edge of underarm sts. Pick up and k 1 st from space between cast-on edge and sleeve sts. k18. Pick up and k1 from space between sleeve sts and cast-on edge. Pick up and k 1 st from cast-on edge of underarm. (22 sts) r2: k2tog, k18, ssk. (20 sts) r3:k to end. Continue in stockinette stitch until sleeve is 11%2" (3.8cm) from underarm edge. Decrease round: k2tog, k to last 2 sts, ssk. Work 3 rounds stockinette stitch. Repeat these 4 rounds two more times. (14 sts) Bind Off. Weave in ends.
