Quick Vertical Striped Scarf

Quick Vertical Striped Scarf made with Wool-Ease Thick & Quick. This scarf began as a quick-knit project to keep me occupied during a road trip from Spokane, WA to Portland, OR. I couldn't find an open LYS
Why this scarf rules:
before leaving Spokane on a Sunday morning, so I had to make do with the yarn selection at Micheal's. I ended up with Lion Brand Wool-Ease Thick & Quick, and a very happy-making scarf! I didn't expect to like as much as I did, and other people dig it, too. I wore it one night to my local pub where it was requested that I make more for a benefit that was being thrown for a friend with medical problems. I did, and they were snatched up! I ended up buying 5 skeins of the Thick & Quick, and getting 3 scarfs and 2 hats out of the yarn. Since then I have made it the scarf with Lion Brand Hometown UsA, and like it with that yarn as well. This scarf is a great bang for your buck! · Quick (can be finished in one evening) Easy ·Attractive ·Warm · Inexpensive · Easily accessible yarn (in Portland I can get it at my local Fred Meyer, which has much longer hours than my LYS) · No finishing (see Pattern Notes)
Size:
Literally doesn't matter, but it with the vertical stripes this scarf looks really good long, so I make it between 5 & 6 feet (60-72") long.
Materials:
Any Super Bulky yarn in 3-5 colors. Suggested and pictured in Lion Brand Hometown USA and Wool-Ease Thick & Quick yarns. US #13/9.0 mm 36" circular needles
Gauge: Doesn't matter.
Pattern Notes:
If you cut the yarn at the end of each row, even if you are going to continue with that color, you will have instant fringe when you are done with the scarf. No finishing! Isn't this the perfect last-minute gift?!
Pattern:
CO 120-150 stitches (basically, as many as you can squeeze onto the circular needles). Do NOT join in the round. Knit all rows, switching colors whenever you want and using a new strand of yarn with a 7" tail on each end for each row. Knit until the scarf is the width you like, mine are about 5" wide, and BO. You are done. Now wear it out and impress someone with your awesomeness.
