Sidew ays Sally

A quick easy flat knit. Picture Sally, a 1920's independent woman sitting comfortably waiting for a cable-car to take her to new adventures. Sideways Sally is famous for her flare with cables. Yarn: Brown Sheep Handpaint Originals, HP 110 Mountain Meadow (any DK weight should work fine). 88 yd skein Needle size: US 7 or $4.5\;\mathsf{m m}$ (circ or straight & DPNs), one cable needle Gauge: 5 sts and 6 rows/inch I seriously sugest staying with DK weight, worsted weight does work but wrinkles oddly with a bent wrist. CO 40 sts Knit one row Purl one row Begin repeats of pattern as needed to fit around your hand. I measure 7 inches across my knuckles and did the pattern 7 inches long before binding off.

Bind off. Seam with Rs facing out. Large cable will be at your fingers and the three little cables will be at your wrist. Using mattress stitch, seam from large cable down approx 2 inches, leave approxa $1\ \frac{1}{2}$ inch gap, seam bottom portion. Thumb: Turn fingerless glove inside out so you are looking at the Ws. Pick-up 15 sts in gap where thumb should be. Knit 2 rows in the round (I used magic-loop style, but you can use magicloop or dpns). For Row 3 K2tog, K3, K2tog, K3, K2tog, K3. Knit 3 more rows and bind off. Weave in all ends.
