Please bear in mind that this pattern is totally untested. It was written for the Harry Potter Knitting House Cup on Ravelry. Of course it was inspired by JK Rawlings books. All intarsia patterns where generously designed by fellow hufflepuff Charlotte Kaae. This 'swatch' was knit by me to make sure I had the decreases correct. This isn't how the actual bag will look because I didn't knit all of the pattern repeats, and you will notice that the paw print section is missing from the bottom of the bag.

Yardage:200 yards Hufflepuff yellow, 300 yards of black Needles:Size 5 circs, 25 inches and 32 inches Notions: 1 stitch marker Gauge: approximately 5 stitches to the inch. Gauge isn't real important, as long as each of the 3 sections are matching. Make sure you all PM each other to get matching gauges. Body
With 32 " circulars (using long tail cast on) cast on 132 stitches in yellow. (leave a nice long tail for finishing) Place marker. Join to knit in the round. Round 1 -3 Knit 3 rows Round 4 - 15 Knit following chart for intarsia pawprints. (grey $=$ yellow, black $=$ black) Note: I tried knitting this using both intarsia and fair isle technique. I don't think either one works better than the other, given the fact that this is knitted in the round. Use whichever you are more comfortable with.

Here is the slip stitch pattern. I hope what I have written matches up, but every yellow 'strip' is 4 rows long, and every black 'strip' is 3 rows long. If not, let me know - but please knit it like this. Row 16 (switch to black) Knit all stitches Row 17 decrease 12 stitches evenly around (120 stitches (black)) Row 18 knit all black Row 19 Join yellow Knit 4 st. Slip 2 stitches. Continue all around. You can sew some nice yellow beads to the center of these gems if you are so inclined. Or string the beads onto the yellow yarn and place them sporadically throughout the yellow portion. Next you will start decreasing and then increasing forming a 'hourglass' shape reminisent of what I imagine the score keepers for the Hogwart's house cup to look like.
