Scrappy Annie Knit Skirt
This skirt is knit using circular needles, so it can be made up super quick. It is a fun way to use up all the scraps of yarn you have left over from other projects, and looks so cute on your little girl! \*\*If you prefer to knit without circular needles, directions will be provided at the end of the pattern. Size: 12-18 months (2, 4, 6) Finished Length: 9 inches (10 1/2 in, 12in, 14in.) Metric conversion: $23\;\mathrm{cm}\:(26.5\;\mathrm{cm},\,30.5\;\mathrm{cm},\,35.5\;\mathrm{cm})$ Supplies Needed: Size 6 US $\left(4\:\mathrm{mm}\right)$ , 16 inch circular knitting needles Scraps of leftover worsted weight yarn Gauge: 6 stitches and $8\,\mathrm{rows}=1$ inch in stockinette stitch
Pattern:
Cast on 120 (124, 128, 136) sts. Place a marker, then join, being careful not to twist. K 3 more rounds. Continue with pattern, changing colors every 4 rounds until the skirt measures 8 inches( $9\,\%$ in, 11 in, 13 in). Metric conversion: $20.5\mathrm{cm}$ (24 cm, $28\;\mathrm{cm}$ $33\;\mathrm{cm}$ 0. As you change colors, make sure to leave about 4 inches $(10\;\mathrm{cm})$ of yarn to weave in. The next round is the belt round (continue following your color pattern): K2tog, YO repeat to the end of the round. K 3 more rounds Bind off To finish: I like to tie each of the colors together in a square knot when they meet up and then weave in the ends. To make belt: Using a contrasting color than the belt round, make a braid; or use a crochet hook and make a chain until it measures 48inches (52in, 55in, 60in). Metric Conversion: 114cm (132cm, 140cm, 152.5cm). Weave the belt through the belt round. \*Abbreviations: K-Knit P-Purl K2tog-Knit 2 together sts.-stitches YO-yarn over \*\*If you prefer not to use circular needles, follow the patern, but use a stockinette stitch instead (K the first row, Pthe next row, repeat).
