Test knit by Lynnea Motter Model: Judy Lebsack Awesome Scotch Provided by Ed Warner Gauge: 8 sts per inch worked flat in stockinette st. Needles: 1 set of 5 dpns in size 1.5 ( $2.5\ \mathrm{mm}$ or size needed to achieve gauge. Yarn: 1 Hank of Chewy Spaghetti (approx. 400 yards) or any yarn that knits to gauge. Tips: Read through pattern before beginning. Familiarize yourself with the abbreviations and techniques. When instructions for Narrow, Medium and Medium Wide differ, instructions for wider sock will be contained within ( ). Work length of foot required for fit, regardless of width.

Worked first 4 sts of N1 and last 4 sts of N2 Rnd 1: P1, k2, p1. Rnd 2: P1, k2tog, yo, p1. Rnds 3-4: Same as Rnd 1. Rnd 5: P1, yo, ssk, p1. Rnds 6: Same as Rnd 1.
Pattern Directions
Cuff:
Loosely cast on 60 (68/72) sts. Divide onto 4 DPNs thusly: N1: 14 (16, 17) instep sts N2: 14 (16, 17) instep sts N3: 16 (18, 19) heel sts N4: 16 (18,19) heel sts Join and mark BOR. Work cuff as follows: N1: Work Inebriated Clock St, pl, $^{*}\mathbf{k}2$ , p2 to end of N1. N2: Continue from \* to last 4 sts, work Inebriated Clock St. N3 and N4: P1, k2, p2 to end of Rnd, ending with p1. Keeping continuity of pattern, working Inebriated Clock St at beginning of N1 and end of N2, complete a total of 12 rnds for cuff.
N1: : Continue Inebriated Clock St on first 4 sts, M1, k to end.
(15/17/18 sts) N2: K to last 4 sts, M1, continue Inebriated Clock St. N3 and N4: K across, dec 1 st on each DPN. (15/17/18 sts each) Next Rnd and all followng rnds: N1: Work Inebriated Clock St, k11 (13, 14). N2: K11 (13, 14), work Inebriated Clock St. N3 and N4: K all sts. Heel:
With RS facing, work back and forth as follows: Slip N4 sts onto N3. On first row of heel, dec 2 sts, evenly spaced (30/34/36 sts), turn, p to end. Rw 1: \*Sl, k1. Repeat from \* to end. Rw 2: Sl 1 purlwise, p to end. Repeat these 2 rws until 30 (34/36) rws have been completed.

Heel Gusset:
With free needle, now N1, k second half of the heel sts. Continuing with the same needle, pick up 15 (17/18) sts along the left side of the heel. Pick up and knit st from the row below the first instep st to prevent a hole. (N1: 25/28/29 sts total) With another needle, work across N2 and N3 thusly: Keeping continuity of Inebriated Clock St, work across in pattern. With free needle, now N4, pick up and knit 1 st from the row below the first heel st to prevent a hole. Pick up 15 (17/18) sts along the right side of the heel, then ${\bf k}9$ heel sts. (N4: 25/28/29 sts total) Work 1 rnd without shaping.
Shape Gusset:
Dec. Rnd N1: Work to 3 sts from end, k2tog, k1. N2: Work Inebriated Clock St, k11 (13/14). N3: K11 (13/14), work Inebriated Clock St. N4: K1, ssk, work to end. Next Rnd: Work even in pattern Repeat these two rnds until 60 (68/72) sts remain and each needle again holds 15 (17/18) sts.
Foot:
Continue in pattern until foot measures 6.5" (7.5"/8") or $^{2^{\circ}}$ less than desired foot length. Complete sts on N4.
Shape Toe:
Rnd 1: N1: Work to last 3 sts, k2tog, k1. N2: K1, ssk, work to end. N3: Work to last three sts, k2tog, k1. N4: K1, ssk, complete round. Rnd 2: Work even. Repeat these two rnds until 32 (36/36) sts remain. Work Rnd 1 only until 16 sts remain.
Finishing:
Work sts on N1. Slip sts from N4 onto N1. Slip sts from N3 onto N2. Holding N1 and N2 together, graft sts on N1 and N2 together using Kitchener st. Weave in ends on inside of sock.
