Quick Knit Waterfall Scarf Pattern with Variable Yarn Weights and Easy Stitches for Beginners by Jan Henley

Pattern illustration

This lovely textured scarf using a variation of easy stitches is a great stash buster and knits up really quick. It is knitted on large 8mm circular needles and you can use a combination of yarn weights which I will explain below and the way it is knitted causes it to "waterfall". It was inspired by a customer and Ravelry friend Lynne Ashton of Lynne Ashton Designs who has a similar project on her Ravelry Page called "28 Row Scarf". Mine in fact is one row less, is shorter in length and uses a larger needle size.

NOTIONS

3 x 100 grams Chunky yarn (approx 300 metres) held singly IS IDEAL BUT I used 200 grams of my Blue Faced Leicester Chunky which I had left over and 45 grams Aran weight and 35 grams Sockweight held together singly in matching shades for the centre portion of the scarf (i.e. rows 13 to 20 incl). It is possible to make this scarf using 3 strands DK, 2 strands Aran, 4 strands sockweight or any combination held together. Tension isn't really important - obviously the more strands held together the thicker the scarf. 1 Circular Needle size 8 mm with at least a 150 cm cable. e - Unimportant Finished Size: Approx 8 inches wide by 72 inches lol
