Cast On:

8 stitches. Join and knit around once. Commence charts with row one of chart one. Each row is worked until the EOR (End of Round) is reached. Rounds not charted are knit.

Stitch Key:

blank = knit one \ = left leaning single decrease s = slip one O = yarnover / = knit two together A = slip 2, kl, psso ^ = purl two together m = purl 3 together The center of the shawl depicts the lightning which is ubiquitous in the Uberwald and which figures prominantly in much Igorian folklore. This center is surrounded with ribbons symbolizing the amity of Uberwalden citizens as well as the "Black Ribboner" movement. Finally, just before the "Ragged Edge" is a circle of sceptres and lightning bolts; the ancient symbol of the Uberwalden Royalty ; known among the Igors as "The Ol' Rod & Bolt".
