Shaw1 Edging This is just an edging pattern. There are lots of solomon's knot/lover's knot shawl patterns on the web. This sample uses the DROPs pattern found on Ravelry. Special Stitches: A Solomon knot cluster is where a sc has been worked into the sc of a solomon's knot on the previous row.

Worked over a multiple of 4 rows of Solomon Knots + Apex (pointed end) Row 1- Ch 6, dc in next Solomon knot sc cluster (hereafter, Scl) on edge, [(dc, ch1, dc, ch1, dc- shell made) in next Scl, dc in next Scl, ch 3, dc in next Scl, ch 3, dc in next Scl] repeat to apex (should end with a dc, ch 3), and (tr, ch 2, dtr, ch 2, tr) in apex, ch 3, dc in next Scl, and continue in pattern to corner edge. Row 2- Ch 4, dc in same st, [dc in next dc, ch 3, dc in center dc of shell, ch 3, dc in next dc after shell, shell in next dc] to apex (should end with a ch 3, dc), then shell in first tr, ch 1, (tr, ch 2, dtr, ch 2, tr) in dtr, ch 1, then shell in next tr, then dc in next dc, ch 3 and continue pattern to corner edge. Row 3- Ch 3, picot, [ch 3, dc in next dc, (dc, 2 tr, picot, tr, dc) in next dc, dc in next dc, ch 3, dc in center dc of shell, picot] to apex (should end with dc, picot, ch 3), then (dc, ch 1, dc) in first tr, (3 dc, picot, 3 dc) in dtr, (dc, ch 1, dc) in second tr, then ch 3, dc, picot, ch 3 in next dc and continue pattern to corner edge. Fasten off. Weave in ends.
