
Page 1 Materials. 80 grams main and 40 grams contrast of UK Double knit yarn, for both sizes. Plus 20grams for scarf and cap. I used Stylecraft Special Double Knit yarn for all except purple ,which is King Cole Pricewise DK. 1 pair size 3.25mm needles, 1 pair size 4mm needles for scarf only, 3.5mm crochet hook for the bag. 4 buttons for Disney and 5 buttons for KnC / Designa Friend, for back opening of sweater. Gauge 5.5 stitches and 6.75 rows = 1 inch of pattern stitch on 3.25mm needles. PLEASE NOTE THAT THROUGHOUT THE SWEATER ,WHEN I WORK THE 2 X 2 RIB I ALWAYS KNIT IN TO THE BACK OF THE KNIT STITCH. SPECIALABBREVIATION
K1 below = K into the next stitch one row below and at same time slipping off the stitch above. In case you lose track, after a few pattern repeats you will notice that the "K1below stitch" is done in to the looser of the 2 stitches and it has a kind of "bobble" (that's a technical term) of the same colour ontherowbelow. Work now measures 4.25inches Cast off loosely in 2 x 2 rib. To make up. Fold the sleeve in half lengthwise and with right sides together, join the sleeve seam row ends. Now turn the sleeve the right way out and with the right sides facing, place the top-centre of the sleeve in line with the shoulder seam and the sleeve seam at centre of underarm and stitch the sleeve in place. Attach 4 buttons to the back opening to correspond with the buttonholes and if required attach a small snap fastener to the bottom corner band.
KIDZ n' CATS OR DESIGNA FRIEND HOUNDSTOOTH SWEATER DRESS.
Work as for the Disney sweater from the start \*\*\* to \*\*\* at the end of row 4 of the pattern. Rows 5 through 16 work as rows 1 through 4. Row 17. Buttonhole row Using yarn A, Knit to the last 3sts, YFWD, k2tog, k1. Rows 18 through 44 continue to work in pattern and border as set, making a buttonhole on row 33 as we did on row 17.Work now measures approx. 5.5inches We will now start the Divide for armholes starting with a row 1 of the pattern. Row 1. (Wrong Side) Using yarn A K13, cast off 3sts, k24 ,(incl. st left on needle after cast off), cast off 3sts,knit to end. Now work on the first 13sts for the Left Back as follows. With right side facing; Row 2. Using yarn A, K3, using yarn B, \*(k1, k1 below,) rep from \* to last 2sts, k2tog. =12sts Row 3. Using yarn B, knit to the last 3sts, bring yarn B to the front and put yarn A to the back, twisting them together, then using yarn A, k3. Row 4. Using the same ball of yarn A all across the row, K3, \*(k1 below, K1), rep from \* to last 3sts, k1below, k2tog. =11sts. Row 5. Buttonhole row. Break yarn and leave the remaining 6sts on a pin for the right backneck. Work the neckband as given on Disney Sweater. SLEEVES (Make 2 the same) Worked in 2 x 2 rib throughout. Using Main colour and size 3.25mm needles Cast on 26sts Row 1. \*( K2, p2,) repeat from \* to last 2sts, k2. Row 2. \*( P2, k2,) repeat from \* to last 2sts, p2. Rows 3 through 32, work as rows 1 and 2 in 2 x 2 rib , increasing and working in to the rib pattern 1 stitch at each end of rows 9, 13, 17, 21, and 25. =36sts. Work now measures 4.3inches To shape the sleeve top. Work 12 rows in 2x2 rib as set but cast off 2sts at the beginning of every row. (When doing the 2 cast off stitches, slip the first stitch in the row do not purl or knit it). =12sts Cast off loosely in 2 x 2 rib. Page 5 To make up. Fold the sleeve in half lengthwise and with right sides together, join the sleeve seam row ends. Now turn the sleeve the right way out and with the right sides facing, place the top-centre of the sleeve in line with the shoulder seam and the sleeve seam at centre of underarm and stitch the sleeve in place. NOW FOLLOW THE KIDZ n CATS SWEATER AFTER ROW 44, FROM AND INCLUDING THE ARMHOLEDIVIDEROWTOTHEEND. STEP 3. WORK THE NECKBAND PICKUP STITCHES THE SAME AS EITHER SWEATER =36stS. BUT WORK4ROWSRIBASFOLLOWS: Rows 1 and 3. K3, \*(p2, k2) repeat from \* to last 5sts, p2, k3. Rows 2 and 4. K5, \*(k2, p2) repeat from \* to last 5st, k5. Cast off in k2, p2, rib. STEP4.WORKTHESLEEVESASFORTHEKIDZnCATSSWEATER. THE BAG is made using size 3.5 mm crochet hook. Make 2 x 2.5inch square crochet granny squares in cream and slip stitch crochet them together on 3 sides with the beige yarn. Do not break the yarn after joining but continue to crochet a single chain of 75sts for the bag handle which you can crochet and secure at the other side of the bag. BOOTs Make 2 the same One size fits both size dolls. Before you start wind off a small amount of cream contrast yarn to use later when knitting the ridge of the sole. Using size 3.25mm needles and double knit cream contrast yarn cast on 11sts. Row 1. Knit Row 2. K1, M1, K4, M1, K1, M1, K4, M1, K1. =15sts Row 3. K1, M1, K5, M1, K3, M1, K5, M1, K1. =19sts Row 4. PLAIN HEADBAND _ Instructions given for both sizes. Note that Disney has the larger head. Using size 3.25mm needles and main colour A, cast on 68sts (60sts). Rows 1 through 14 (10), \*(K2, p2,) repeat from \* to end. Cast off in K2, p2 rib .
FLOWER
Using size 3.25mm needles and contrast colour yarn cast on 60sts. Row 1. \*(K1, cast off 8sts,) repeat from \* to end. =12sts (on the needle you will have 1 stitch at the beginning followed by 5 groups of 2sts and 1 stitch at the end). Keeping the needle with the stitches in your right hand,\*(pass the second stitch over the first) repeat from\* till you are left with only the first stitch. Break the yarn and thread it through the remaining loop. Sew in the ends to form the flower. Stitch the flower to the band over the join and attach a button to the flower centre if required.

Using size 3.25mm needles, cast on 54 sts Rows 1 & 2. Knit. Row 3. Increase row. K17, increase (KFB) in the next20sts, k17. = 74sts. Slip 1, knit to end. Row 8. Knit to end ( this forms the garter stitch peak) Row 9. K17,turn. Row 10. Slip 1, p8, turn. Row 11. Slip 1, k11, turn. Row 12. Slip 1, p14 ,turn. Row 13. Slip 1, k17, turn. Row 14. Slip 1, p20, turn. Row 15. Slip 1. Knit to end Row 16. Purl to end. Cast off. With wrong sides together fold in half and oversew the cast on and cast off edges of the peak together. Line up the centre of the peak to the centre front of the cap and with right sides together stitch the peak in place. Now pull the front of the cap over the peak so that there is just a small amount of the peak showing and do a blind slip-stitch between the 2 pieces to hold it in place. THE SCARF Don't forget to knit in to the back of every knit stitch for a neater finish. Using size 4mm needles and grey yarn, cast on 14sts. Row 1. Slip1 knitways, k1,\*(p2, k2,) repeat from \* to end. Row 2. Slip1 knitways, p1, \*(k2, p2,) repeat from \* to last 4sts, k2, p1, k1. Rows 3 through 150 or to desired length, work as rows 1 and 2.
