My Delicious Chocolate Fingerless Gloves
I borrowed ideas from the Saroyan Scarf, Daphne Hat, and Stockinette Mitts to create this pattern for fingerless gloves. I wanted gloves that matched the Saroyan Scarf and I couldn't find anything I liked on Ravelry. So, this is what I came up with. I hope you enjoy...

Yarn: Cascade Yarns Dolce - 941 worsted (109 yd/50g), less than 1 skein. Recommended Needles: One set size US 6 for leaf trim and two size 8 circular needles for body
Gauge:
On larger needles, 4.5 sts per inch in stockinette stitch
Pattern Notes:
Since the body of the gloves are in stockinette, it should be fairly easy to adjust the pattern. I knitted the trim to fit my wrist and then picked up stitches from there. I have man hands, so the gloves pictured above can probably be considered L/XL. Small side note: I may have confused LH and RH, but if you follow the instructions you should have one of each.

Set-Up: With a piece of scrap yarn, the size 6 needles, and a crochet hook, make a temporary caston chain of 7 stitches by using the Provisional/Chain cast-on method. Purl across using yarn for gloves. Be sure to leave a 10-12 tail. This row is only worked once and is not part of the repeat pattern. Pattern: slp, k3, yo, k1, yo, k2 p6, k1fb, k1, pl slp, k2, p1, k2, yo, kl, yo, k3 p8, k1fb, k2, pl slp, k2, p2, k3, yo, k1, yo, k4 p10, k1fb, k3, pl slp, k2, p3, ssk, k5, k2tog, k1 p8, k1fb, p1, k3, pl slp, k2, p1, k1, p2, ssk, k3, k2tog, k1 p6, k1fb, k1, p1, k3, p1 slp, k2, p1, k1, p3, ssk, k1, k2tog, k1 p4, k1fb, k2, p1, k3, p1 slp, k2, p1, k1, p4, slk2p, k1 p2tog, bind off 3 (starting with stitch already on right needle), k1, p1, k3, p1 At this point, you should have created one leaf. My gloves have 5 leaves. If you have a small wrist you may be able to finish with 4 leaves. If you are in between, you may want to go with 5 leaves and insert a few decreases within your first few rows of stockinette. Once you have 4-5 leaves, put live stitches from provisional cast-on onto your spare needle. Using the tail you left at cast-on, join the ends of your leaf trim together with either a kitchner stitch or three needle bind off.
RH Glove Body:
Using your size 8 circular needles, pick up one stitch for every slipped stitch along the top of your leaf trim. If you ended with 5 leaves, you should pick up approximately 35 stitches, 18 stitches on one circular and 17 stitches on the other. Place marker to mark beginning of row. Join in the round being sure not to twist your stitches. Knit 6 rows. Begin thumb gusset: \*you may want to use a different color marker from beginning marker to mark beginning and end of thumb gusset Row 1: k11, pm, k1fb, k1, k1fb, pm, knit to end of row Row 2: all even rows knit all stitches Row 3-15: k to m, slm, k1fb, k to 1 before m, k1fb, slm, knit to end of row Close thumb gusset: Row 16: k to m, drop m, k4, BO 15, drop m, knit to end of row Row 17: k15, k1 from other side of BO, pass the second to the last stitch worked over the last stitch worked, knit to end of row Continue in stockinette for 13-14 rows, or until you reach desired length to fingers. Purl onerow BO all stitches knitwise
LH Glove Body:
Make leaf trim as before. I did not come up with a clever way to reverse the leaves. Begin thumb gusset: \*you may want to use a different color marker from beginning marker to mark beginning and end of thumb gusset Row 1: knit until 14 stitches remain on left needle, pm, klfb, k1, k1fb, pm, k11 Row 2: all even rows knit all stitches Row 3-15: k to m, slm, k1fb, k to 1 before m, k1fb, slm, knit to end of row Close thumb gusset: Row 16: k to m, slm, BO 15, k4, drop m, knit to end of row Row 17: k to m, drop m, k1 from other side of BO, pass the second to the last stitch worked over the last stitch worked, knit to end of row Continue in stockinette for 13-14 rows, or until you reach desired length to fingers.
