A2Z Hat can be personalized for your little one or yourself. Some fun ideas are; the baby's 1st initial, or "B" for boy and "G" for girl. This is a super-fast knit. Bottom up and knit completely in the round. DK or sport weight yarn work well All you need to know to do is, knit, purl, and K2tog. The all letters are charted. Yarn - Malabrigo Silky Merino in Narciso Needle - 6 US (4.00 mm)or size you need to get gauge 4 US (3.50 mm) Gauge - 22 stitches = 4 inches Yardage - 40 to 220 yards Sizes - Newborn (0-3 months, 12 months, Kid, Teen, Adult, Large Adult) Head circumference - 11"( 13", 16", 18", 20", 21", 23 %") Cast on 64 (72, 90, 100, 110, 120, 130) stitches,using a long tail cast on, with the smaller needles, be sure to keep it loose. Join in the round, be careful not to twist. Place your start of round marker Round 1: (Knit 1, purl 1) ribbing, repeat to the end of the round. Round 2: Knit to the end of the round Repeat rounds 1 and 2, 2 (2, 2, 3, 3, 3, 3) times more Round 3: (Knit 1, purl 1) ribbing, repeat to the end of the round. Change to the larger needles Round 4: Knit Repeat round 4, 5(6,7,7,8,8, 10) times more Set up round: Knit 10 stitches, place a 2nd marker, knit to the end of the round (the 10 stitches between the start of round marker and 2nd marker is where the letter chart is worked) Round 5: Sm, work your letter chart over the next 10 stitches, Sm, knit to the end of the round Repeat round 5 until you have worked all 15 rows of your letter chart. Round 6: Knit Repeat round 6 until the hat measures 4"(5", 5 %", 5 %", 6", 6 %", 6 %") inches from the cast on. If you would like to adjust the length, this is where you should do it. For sizes-Preemie and NB-Work rounds5-15 For sizes - 12 months, Kid, Teen, Adult and Large Adult - Work rounds 1-15 Round 1: (Knit 8, K2tog) repeat to the end of the round Rounds 2, 4:Knit to the end of the round Round 3: (Knit 7, K2tog) repeat to the end of the round Round 5: (Knit 6, K2tog) repeat to the end of the round Round 6, 8, 10, 12, 14: Knit to the end of the round Round 7: (Knit 5, K2tog) repeat to the end of the round Round 9: (Knit 4, K2tog) repeat to the end of the round Round 11: (Knit 3, K2tog) repeat to the end of the round Round 13: (Knit 2, K2tog) repeat to the end of the round Round 15: (Knit 1, K2tog) repeat to the end of the round Draw the stitches together, and snug up
