Baby Trumpet Sniffer Knitting Pattern for Charity and Personal Use by Birgit SchneggArt

baby trumpet sniffer

Pattern illustration

This little baby trumpet sniffer is a descendant of the trumpet sniffer and its length is about 10 cm. It is knitted from leftovers; the concept follows the basic idea of the original sniffer. Due to its tininess, this baby sniffer does not need any ears, but some hair can be fixed on the sides of the head to simulate them ;) Creativity is in demand! There are countless options for individual eyes and hair styles and it can easily be attached to a key ring This baby trumpet sniffer can be sold for charity purposes!! Besides that, pattern is for private use only, please.

material

about 5 g sock yarnor other leftovers ·5 doublepointed needles ·2 buttons/beads for the eyes yarn in contrasting colours for the hair fiberfill Please read the whole pattern before you get started

Body with head and trunk (all knitted in 1 piece like a sock)

Cast on 20 stitches and continue knitting in rounds: 20 rounds: knit all stitches Next round: \*1 yarn over/knit 2 together\* repeat to end of round (later, a string will be pulled in between here to separate the head from the body) 10 rounds: knit all stitches Now you start with the decreases for the blending head/trunk: \*knit 1/knit 2 together\* repeat to end of round Next round: knit all stitches \*knit 1/knit 2 together\* repeat to end of round. (about 8 stitches are sufficient for the trunk, but you can adapt width to your taste) \*knit 1/purl 1\* repeat to end of round ... continue this ,cuff pattern" till desired length of trunk (about 2 cm) Last row of the trunk: duplicate all stitches (knit from front loop + additional one from back loop) Loosely bind off the trunk; pull in yarn ends into the body Filling take a string of approx. 20 cm length and (using a crochet hook or embroidery needle) weave them trough the holes ir theopenworkbetween head andbody Starting from the big opening at the end, stuff the body towards the trunk of the baby trumpet sniffer with fiberill Now use the ends of the strings woven in before to tie off the head from the body, stuff in more fiberfilling and finally close the end of the body with another string by weaving it through the stitches near the rim of the knitwork with a needle. Knot the strings tightly, weave in the ends into the filing (or through the filling towards the head right away, creatingsomehair). Ok, and now enjoy the pattern, I wish you a successful outcome @ If you have any questions, don't hesitate to contact me.
